I personally won't be taking on Frankel but I might have a decent punt on Excelebration e/w depending on price.
do I smell a massive Frankel lay here, GD ?I personally won't be taking on Frankel but I might have a decent punt on Excelebration e/w depending on price.
Excelebration e/w @ 3/1 (1/5, 3 places) - surely can't be out of the 3 so effectively only risking 20% of your stake for a potential return of 180% if he wins.
Of course it never works out like that and he'll probbaly meet trouble in running and finish 4th - but my moneys already down on him.

platini - certainly wouldnt lay frankel as it has a 48% chance of winning unclepuncle is correct, at 150/1 bar 3 this really is the bet to nothing on excelebration ew at 3/1, risking 20% to win 180% is effectively a bet at 9/1 on an evens chance!!!! even better though if you are confident that excelegration will be in the first 2 is an ew at 7/2 witha bookmaker paying 1st 2 only at 1/4th odds, because here you are risking only 7.5% of stake to win 215% which is odds of over 25/1 on an evens chance!!!!! however good you think frankel is, it is certainly NOT a 1/25 chance!!!

There is no way in the world EXCELEBRATION will finish any worse than 2nd and i for one will be having a large chunk on him each way at around the price, already has a race under his belt,so the fitness edge is with him and with Frankels injury also,if he is ever going to beat him,it will be on saturday, well worth the punt imo, looks like being 4/5 ish w/o the fav as well, lump on that also

Same old same old - Frankel betas Excelebration by 3-4 lengths with Dubawi Gold another 2 lengths back.
Can Frankel ever put up the performance that will make him the greatest ever on the ratings?

It's pretty obvious to most that Frankel's the best 1m horse seen since Brig Gerard. Black cavaiar(a horse that has only ever won 1 race over further than 6f) is built like a sprinter and the chance of him beating Frankel at Goodwood is probably minimal ,and I'd expect Excelebration to be better than BC at a mile. With nothing left to prove at 1m and the prospect of him beating the same horses over and over again surely it's time to move on to something different. If BC is reckoned to be the best sprinter the Aussies have had for a long time if not ever and the Aussie sprinters are in general better than the European ones, then surely the best plan is to take on BC in the July cup. If Frankel blows BC away in that, which is debatable , he could lay claim to being not only one of the best 1 milers of all time but also one of the best sprinters. The only other races that would probably test Frankel would be the 2 1 1/4m races at Ascot where if there was some cut in the ground and a fast early pace we'd find out if frankel has much stamina. My guess is they will go to the Queen Anne if there is cut then go to Sandown where on midsummer fast ground he could face minimal opposition. Hopefully he'd then face Cirus des Aigles in the Champion with cut in the ground where his stamina will be put to the test. Hopefully connections will take on some new challenges with Frankel.
