This has all the hallmarks of being a draw bias race imo, like to have one each side here

zilzal, like the New Leyf pick, especially at the price - have always wanted to see the horse on the soft. Trainer form is a little off putting for Bonnie Brae but the one low for me is likely to be King of Jazz

Is it essential to be drawn either side of the track? I really fancied Fathsta but he's drawn bang in the middle :-(

Probably not GCW - just as likely to all come down the middle. As regards Fathsta, do you think he will run both tomorrow and Sat?

Not many races to go on where the going was soft over the last few years, with ease though its paid to be either extreme

Doubt he'll run both races but I think he is a better horse at Ascot than Chester.

Fathsta going to Ascot. I think he's a huge price on his two Ascot runs last year. 10lb lower than when competitive in this race last year but outpaced final furlong. I think the soft ground is a bonus given he seems to handle any ground with equal effectiveness and may blunt the speed of some of his younger counterparts. I've got no idea how he is a bigger price than Brae Hill and Excellent Guest on their runs in this and at Newmarket last year. He showed enough on his debut this year to suggest he still retains ability. just a little worried about is draw.

Don't think the draw is going to be a problem GCW. Looks like they want the centre of the track, maybe erring towards the stands side. On the evidence tonight meed to be middle to high but then you can never really tell - the jockeys are just as likely go a different way tomorrow

Ive taken the opposite view roo, historically these big 7f events favour those 5 either side off the fence, ive gone with some forecasts with High as there is (limited admittedly) that the stands are favoured with easier ground, if i dont win, best of luck!!

zilzal I have done the horses I planned to, slightly stronger on New Leyf as it seems to favour the high

Well im definitely wishing you luck with that one think there is more early pace that side as well, id expect the Balding one to go for home 1st.

Zilzal - I know the owner of New Leyf, he had a gallop the other day in blinkers and was fantastic. They are hopeful of a very good run but can't be certain in the ground - if it was good he said to me they would be very confident of a place. I'm backing it to small stakes, they need it to run well to get in at Royal Ascot.

I e mailed the trainer Yesterday and told him the thoughts about the straight course at Ascot, he was good enough to reply and thank me.

His profile does suggest that the 1st couple of runs off a break can be the time to catch him and he's handled softer ground earlier in his career, minus side is that he's disappointed at the course before, but he's been more consistent in the last few runs

Dont, i backed the winner at 12-1 AP(along with New Leyf) but talked myself into doing the forecast on the high numbers instead then watched in horror as they bluddy well came up the centre of the track

Even though ive had a good week ive done it all wrong, was busy with the guineas and bank holiday and didnt back Ile De re at 25s and had to take 14s, Chucked out the winner for the f/c when Myplacelater came second at Chester and got done in a photo with Imperial Djay

Never has a near 30 point profit on the week seemed so bad, bah, York here we come

Zil - New Leyf runs tomorrow Windsor, was entered at Haydock yesterday and also the 2 6f races at Windsor tomorrow night. Needs a good run to get in to the Wokingham. Will come back tomorrow to let you know any info I get.

Spoke to the owner, trainer has called him this morning and said he's fit, trying to win, will love the ground. Thats about as much as I can tell you so take your choice. Not going to say anything else as you get all sorts of sh1t on here for going ott, just passing on the info.

Apparently up to his old tricks, turns one in every now and then. The horse just didn't want to try, he's a bit of a monkey by all accounts, maybe leaving the blinkers off didn't do any favours. Will see next time as he's got bags of talent but sometimes can't be bothered. Will let you know any further info, he's also got a nice 2yo that may be out soon.
