Emilio Largo for me. Trainer's older horses running to form, think this one may be still be ahead of its mark if you takes its form with Maraheb literally.
Early season, soft ground = tread carefully. 1 PT win @ 10s |

pretty big move on this in the last couple of hours
moloko's followers getting on it large ![]() |

Has to be FURY
By:
He's a chance facts, imo all the pace is going to be lower, if Nazreef turns right imo the higher numbers are stuffed, he could end up winning the stands side event though

should be turns left

Fallon will get the job done

Haggas had a double today at Newbury too.His string are in top form

Would you be worried there isn't still a bit of a kink in him Facts. He finished his race okish the last day but I just wonder if something somewhere is hurting him.

out of furys newmarket maiden win last year ,the next 7 behind him that day now all run in group races,it was also on soft,it also won that after its first race of the season.the draw could beat it though, but clearly best in race.

I understand that any problems have now been eradicated

Not just the maiden but also the Sandown race.

If I am not mistaken wasn't this race last year a bit of a farce in that there was masses of carnage and many horses not getting a clear run?
I think Nazreef was very unlucky, iirc, and this time around he comes here fit from the all-weather. A shame Simcock has not given a prep to Vainglory as he is just the type for this race and will handle the soft ground. The jockey rode Pintura to finish 2nd last year, but I cant back them tomorrow because the horse is now 8 years old and will almost certainly need a few runs before he is fit enough to beat the younger ones. No idea if i'll play in this yet, probably just watch. |

Your not thinking of when Brunston won a few years back are you sint. Don't think there was any trouble last year.
By:
How long has this race not been an early closer (I see Global Village has been re-assessed rather than getting a penalty)?
By:
Good luck all.
I'm going to have to follow Fury again in this after he almost gave me a winning ante post ticket on him for the Lincoln. The ground should be in his favour now and Fallon on board is a big plus for me. It's usually a tricky race but I'll stick with him to hopefully take this prize. |

Yesterdays time's suggested the ground was Heavy and the jockeys reported it was riding between soft and heavy. Difficult to know what will happen as plenty of soft ground horses don't like heavy ground.
RP 21/04 trainer comments re ground suitablilty. Capt Bertie _- " I think he'll enjoy the ground" Fury - " I have been telling everyone he wants cut in the ground so now he needs to prove it" Dubawi Sound- " He has never tackled soft ground and I'd be hopeful that he will act on it" Maverik " I don't know whether he will handle the ground but suspect he will" Global Village -" He's in good form and handles the ground" Oriental Scot - "I'm slightly concerned about the ground" Mull of kil -" I don't know if he would be good enough to win this on what could be very churned up ground" |

Nice to see you Mr Moloko.I thought you had left town.
Cruiser for me,he has form with Fury that makes him value at 33/1. Mr M,please check your mail box, thank you. |

unlucky Fury !
By:
Terrible commentary imo, hardly mentioned the winner until inside the final furlong. Also, once Cap Bertie pushed Fury into Emilio Lago's path, Queally looked not too fussed to push him out for 4th!
By:
...and what was that "produced with a devastating run" (Fury) all about?
By:
So close Fury! That's two seconds this week in the two races I've wagered in, gutted!

Tote Swinger for 2nd & 3rd paid £94.50
![]() Only £14.70 for 1st and 2nd. |
By:
Sure he ran a good race, but that in itself's now a problem, whats he going to go up? 3-5lbs?? that will make him hard to place in a handicap unless we get a really wet spring/Summer
By:
Agreed PHS re Queally although on that ground, and 1st race of season he was coming to the end of his run at that stage. Will definitely be going in again on Emilio Largo in its next run, thought it was the horse to take out of the race, ideally over 7F
By:
That's where the handicap system falls down for me Zilzal. Putting it up 5lb's for coming 2nd woud be too much imo. It's run to how most expected it to, AFAICS. If he put it up just 1lb or 2lb that would be enough for me. If it wins NTO, so it goes up another 6-8lb, and that would probably be enough.
By:
Agree re the commentary. Was shocking.
Captain Bertie must have been very well handicapped to win from his low draw. |
By:
Captain Bertie ' should ' have won ten lengths last time out , its just nice to see the handicap good thing actually go in .
By:
To me Fury should have won this but looked reluctant to go past the winner . Well positioned by Fallon
he was produced to win but appeared slighly intimidated by the winner. This is just the sort of horse Fallon used to excel on 15 years ago and Fallons strength would have dragged it over the line in front whether it wanted to be there or not. The number of weak willed horses he used to get to win was amazing and I've never seen a jockey be able to do the same since. |
