Agree. Not sure if their are rules against that tbh if you state it before the race. They could just say he is trying to make the weight but then doesn't and still rides.

we had all those shenanigans with price drifts in last two weeks
and now on the eve of the race he has shortened into 16.5/17 today (from 23/24 this morning)

but all the strange drifts and all that happened AFTER Cheltenham when it was already known he was well in. He got down to 17.5 on the ante-post market, then all of a sudden there was no money to back him and he was available to back in the 30s again, then he shortened about a week or so before easter and then shortened again.
