Bad luck. It's certainly annoying to have a long-standing betting account closed or restricted. It's happened to me a few times over the years. There are usually ways round it - you could either try getting your bets placed by someone else (which is easier than you'd imagine) or you could go in person to one of their shops (which is what I have to do if I want to have a bet with Betthread et al)...
My personal gripe with this firm is that they recently changed the rules for credit account customers placing antepost bets - these now have to be paid for upfront even when the event is months away. How long before the other major firms follow suit?

Annoying doesn't even begin to do justice to the feeling I had after 30 years holding accounts with Korals. Any other business and you would expect an amount of courtesy after a quarter as long an association. To just be told by a clerk that some twerp in trade had decided to close you account when you phone to have a bet left me absolutely seething.

The most infuriating part of it, in my experience, is that they are never prepared to tell you honestly why they have taken the decision to close/limit your account. I would have more respect for trading decisions if they were explained properly to the customer! Sadly, all off-course bookmaking firms are run by risk-averse accountants.
