Liam - reading back, i can't help you with Eddery's Bessborough winner, but if you were there that day (which I wasn't) that was a great line up for the Coronation Stakes.

Hardly surprising it was elevated to Group One a few years later.

I'd back two outsiders in each race and just hoped for the best they'd be in the right bets!

An excellent trainer and one that could be relied on to be straight.

Always seemed to campaign them the right way.

They are around about every 10 years when i dont bother having a multiple and the last one was in 08(last leg Iris De Balme!!)

I did win the tote jackpot around 97 and thats the only claim to fame

Been a good race for me, i tend to back horses whos form over long distance chases seem much better than 3-31/4 mile form

Ive backed Merigo for the last 2 years and will do again, he'll be tailed off again this weekend

Hugh, Alidiva was the first CHW horse i remember trained by HRAC, my dad always said she was a guineas horse, though she didnt prove to be one on track, she did throw one, the aforementioned Sleepytime.
