Both seem to well in a the weight, especially Lackamon who although 12 higher has 10 pound claimer onboard. Won easily at newcastle at the fighting fifth meeting. Both will like the soft ground and distance not a problem. Lots of doubts about a number in this race, Always Right being the only other one I considered, but its too short at 7/2.
2.5pts ew on both, gl.
ps This is for my fourth big handicap in as many weeks! (previous were Carruthers 20/1, Quantitativeeasing 8/1, Raya Star 12/1)
Knockara Beau is really well handicapped off 143 for me and will continue to follow him off this sort of mark...the minus points are his tendency to make a bad mistake and the jockey but that is more than compensated by the price...when it all goes right he is a 155 horse

Done Lackamon myself. Bit of a profitable system to follow over the years, when Sue Smith sends a novice chaser into open company, potentially she could knacker the horse's handicap mark if it loses.
Twiston Davies is another for novices in graded open company.... Welsh National.

Very disappointed with that as well Sint - I'm not a great fan of the jockey and he let Lackamon take his ground with a circuit to run and lose the good place he had - all uphill from there! Not giving up with him yet though and think a return to Cheltenham might see him in better light come March (Ritz Club race or whatever its now called). I suppose hoping for a change of rider is too much though after all this time

Yeah he lost his position on the second circuit for no apparent reason .. maybe this race was too quick .. His Cheltenham run was only 16 days ago.
Wont give up on him either.
