Exmoor Ranger? Dartnall said in the RFO he will consider the race for him. Not quite 500/1 but about 400/1 is available. Should be tradeable at some point.
Cant see much else to be honest. Some Target maybe? But he would need to win a race between now and Feb to get into the Grand National as his OR is probably too low at the moment.

At 70, Sunnyhillboy looks worth a few quid. Ran a great race in Irish National then backed off the boards in December Gold Cup at Cheltenham over an inadequate trip so looks like they consider him still well handicapped.

Stewarts House at 429/1. Not sure if he'll stay the full trip but proven over the fences. Assuming he's ok after that last run as does seem to big a price?

Where did the term rank outsider come from anyone ?
Is it in a 30 horse race the horse 'ranked' 30th on form and in the betting ?
or....
Is it a play on the word rank like your first and only taste of marmite ?

Alan & Penzance - I haven't started my AP book for the National yet (usually a layer) but that does seem a huge price for a horse that's jumped around the course before and WON!
I couldn't resist a stray fiver at average odds of 420 as I can see this chappie trading in double figures over the next few weeks - possibly BEFORE he actually runs again, as long as he's declared somewhere.
I'm not one for following ANYONE'S advice but I like reasoning and sound logic - surely connections will aim him at the race.

H before I backed him thought it was a big price, had a look on SL,trainer said would like a crack at the race.138 his mark,I think,so could get in. Others might know.(Deep Purple, nice price too) GL

Penzance - I think I'd only be interested in Deep Purple at similar odds to Stewarts House tbh...he's never looked the most fluent of fencers to me, and although he has a touch of class, he's a tad short.
Is Meanus Dandy fit & well? He's massive at 1000 as is Mon Parrain at 730 - it makes you wonder just how much others 'know' that you don't, as the latter jumped fantastically well over the course last April, and with his disappointing runs so far this season, is probably still on a handsome mark.

I thought it was to prevent 5YO from running over the fences and 6YO were OK?
It wasn't that long ago that Cyfor Malta 'hurdled' them as a 5yo.
Thanks for that article Zilzal - I'm always way off the pace with anything going on nowadays...I get more 'on the ball' as the decades roll BACK!
Another bad bit of PR for Betfair than, as anyone who's back this has been pickpocketed! £386 matched so far and going by how B/F usually operate, it'll remain in the market and there's gonna be more money thieved this way
There has been £690 matched on two players at the BDO darts that were never in the hunt!
It really isn't on!

PS - to my earlier post...when Rewilding was fatally injured in the King George, he was removed immediately from the ante-post Arc book, so whatever horseshit they spout about 'trading opportunities' is utter nonsense - they CAN do something about it!
PPS - those two blokes are STILL in the darts tournament - B/F are utter scumbags!

The trip probably stretched him at Cheltenham last time. I don´t know if he would stay in a Grand National, but I´d like to give him a spin on better ground. - Tim Vaughan, trainer.

Rydal 08 Jan 12 11:11 The conditions for the Grand National have still not been published yet and, while it is highly unlikely that Mon Parrain will be eligible, it is not confirmed. After all, Denman is still being traded and they are naming a race after him!
thought the new rules were in already

Willie Mullins, has worked the oracle with regards to Cooldine's handicap mark, He will now have a grade 1 winner going off under 11 stone. Right age, right weight, and stamina to burn. Has a real Grand National pedigree, and has obviously been layed out for the race...What a shrewdie...Bring it on!!!

I think it'll be a 'Sisyphean' task for Cooldine as he's shown very little over the last couple of seasons.
At 400+ then yes, but in double digits he's a 'NO' for me. Nevertheless, he has come down in the weights and looks a National type, so I can see your reasoning.

A year off, handicappers regulation automatic 6Lb drop, a Lack lustre 2l defeat by Joncol (no mean achievement). Absolutely tanking along behind Synchronised until he belted a fence in his last run. He can now prepare him, weight for the handicapper to hand him the race on a plate, pick up a soft but valuable trial on the way. Speed over two and a half mile, stays until the whole family have gone.

I fancy Cooldine too, he has the perfect dosage and has massive female tail line stamina on both sides of the pedigree. I see Hurry Up; sire of Early Mist is a distant grand parent, he stamped real stamina through his offspring.
Missed the prices whilst dithering over whether he would run or not. I would have taken a slice had I read your thoughts before Sis. Assuming Mr Smith gives him a decent weight and he is well; then he must surely take his chance.
Good luck.

Told Violet that if she dont let him run, then she will spend the rest of her life pushing the boulder reverising what if... She said if that nice Mr Smith gives him 10-10 then she will let him run...

THE MIDNIGHT CLUB, sent off favourite for last year's John Smith's GrandNational, is set to have his third outing of the season in a five-runner chase at Clonmel on Thursday.
Twelve of those come from the Mullins yard and speaking about his Clonmel contenders, the trainer said: "The Midnight Club found Tramore a bit tight and sharp for him although he was staying on at the finish.
"Clonmel is quite similar to Tramore and the trip is a furlong shorter than last time, but it doesn't look as good a race so we're hoping for a good run."
Cooldine, formerly owned by Archie and Violet O'Leary, will carry the colours of Mullins's wife Jackie for the first time. Of the ten-year-old who has not won since landing the RSA Chase at Cheltenham in 2009, Mullins added: "Cooldine appears to have lost his form. We're just hoping he might do better this time but he just isn't the horse he was.
"If he fails to win before the end of the season he will probably go hunter chasing next season."
The Midnight Club, sixth in last year's National, is Mullins' lowest-priced entry with Paddy Power at 16-1 for this season's renewal.
I had a speculative £35 to win @300+ on Cooldine - looks to have a chance off 140-odd to me.

Now the 82 entries are out, does anyone know anything about The Package? He has not been out at all this season. Looks ideal for the race but for all I know he could be lame. Had the right number of chases, 3 mile 2 furlong winner in Class 1, 9 years old... he ran in the race last year but fell early.
Anyone know anything?

blimey just realised he ran in the race two years ago!! went off 14/1 as a 7 yo - that wasn't right surely?
anyway 50/1 best bookie price, was 61 on here

the package is interesting but never seemed to be liking it before falling at the 19th too early to say how he would have fared but obviously had problems

Not bad for a 'throwaway' fiver...Stewart's House advice from a while back (re-posted below) at 420 - this place can be helpful sometimes
I've grabbed the stake money (and more) back as low as 70 (it's even hit 55 ) though due to Betfair's greasy new policy, I'm not gonna have much of an ante-post book on this year's National
Like many others, I just cannot afford to 'cover' the liabilities and have MY money tied up in Betfair's accounts!

Thanks guys though the trading springboard it could have given me has been robbed from us all

Keeping fingers crossed for Stewarts House to get just enough weight to get in the race and then expect a run fairly soon ( possibly Haydock next weekend). Just had a small amount on so may not lay off and to be honest still think 84/1 is very tempting.
