We seem to be losing quite a few horses to injury, we've had key horses pulling out of big races, and we've seen punters tucked up good and proper by misleading information from trainers.
All very unsatisfactory. We need something to kick start the season soon.
Highlight for me. Peddlers Cross winning twice and showing his talents by writing on the Betfair forum no end to his talents.
Wins the Arkle then writes about in the Racing Post in March.

A few decent performances, but not been set alight by things yet. I was actually disappointed with the Hennessy, that something didn't come through with a dominant performance. Nice win by Carruthers, but wasn't inspired by it. Maybe it's just me.
Hurricane Fly going awol, this cr@p with Noble Prince and Joncol, Spirit Son missing, Finian's Rainbow out of the Tingle Creek.

For me,Kauto and Carruthers were two outstanding NH moments of all time!.Throw in the potential of Peddlers Cross,Grand Cru,Bobs Worth and Fingal Bay......I couldn't disagree with the OP more.

Howdi, I think 'great' is in the eye of the beholder. What might be great and provide memories for one person, could be distinctly average to another. I've been a little underwhelmed by the season so far, with a few exceptions, but from this thread, that doesn't apply to most people.

It wasn't the greatest in terms of rating of performance obviously,it was the emotional side which captivated me.Journeyman jockey, hugely popular in the weighing room, small yard, legend of an owner who seems to be unfortunately on his last legs.....for me it is definitely one of my favourite NH moments ever.(PS backed it at 20/1 )

It's disappointing some key horse have been injured, but there still has been some great results/races imo.
And we still have Denman to come out over Xmas.

I think you have to be there. TV doesn't really do justice to jump racing. C4 coverage leaves me uninspired. I went to Wincanaton midweek a while ago and enjoyed my first point this weekend and the joy is there when I see them in the flesh.

Thought Kauto Stars win at Haydock was one of the all time great racing moments and quite moving. I don't think the quality has been great but still entertaining just need to start backing some winners.

Great result for racing but it's actually a bit disappointing that the race is really decided by the quality of the jockeys - put Walsh on Long Run and Waley-Cohen on Kauto and you'd have a very different result. The best horse on the day didn't win imo.
