Golden Lilac was not quite right today. Travelled by far the best but did not quicken as she normally does. I think it would be a very rash decision to be backing Galikova for the Arc on the form of beating her pacemaker. Obviously a very talented filly but needs to prove herself for me.

golden lilac is a light-framed filly who won't take much more racing at the top level imo. she still doesn't settle either. i think we've seen the best of her.
Don't really see these 2 fillies as Arc contenders - will they even run? Unusual for the French to race their 3yos in the summer if they have the Arc in mind.
should add golden lilac was hanging right in the straight. finnish imo.
even F.Head is quoted in todays RP saying that GL was probably not at her best yesterday

The older horses are stronger and so better able to carry weight, so it is no advantage at all.
The 3lb allowance is more questionable but most people factor it in by assuming the typical fillies race is a bit below the level of the colt's equivalent, rather than assuming she is going to improve by 3lb the day she runs in an open race.

Golden Lilac has always shown pace, she probably burned herself out pulling yesterday, and won't be going over 1m4f ever. Maybe she needed it, who knows, but stupid to compare her running badly to Galikova's chance in the Arc. She clearly wants 1m2f plus, 1m4f should be fine.
She won't be out to the Arc trail, so hasn't and won't be over-raced.

Garbage, recent record of 4yos plus in the Arc please? Good three-year-olds getting allowances will always beat ordinary older horses, and this year's crop look a good bunch, especially the French fillies. Take Immortal Verse for example. Golden Lilac is well abover average, good division, so Galikova getting all the allowances in the Arc, with Peslier on, makes a good bet.

Just not valid to compare the 3YOs v older horses in The Arc from the last few years in order to say Weight For Age is wrong.
Zarkava and Sea The Stars were exceptional . Workforce an above average Derby Winner.
Against that you mostly had older horses that had been also rans in their own 3YO seasons. Duke Of Marmalade about the best of them from what i recall. He had won a string of below par Group 1s and was never as good as a glance at his CV made him look IMO.
Those 3YO were far superior racehorses than the older horses they came up against.
An exceptional older horse will beat a merely very good 3YO , there just have not been many of them about at Middle Distance in recent years.

All the best 3yos usually get packed off to stud, but at least this year we have WF & Sarafina.
Personally, I only take extra notice of the WFA when the going gets really soft. It is much more of an advantage then.

She was impressive yesterday.
Personally thought she took a while to pick up. Peslier was niggling her coming into the straight before she hit top gear. She does not have an instant turn of foot, it is more gradual, but if the pace is strong she should have every chance.

I'd say 8s is way too big. The 3 year old fillies are above average this year IMO. Definitely in the shake up.

DUNNO... There ARE concerns about the ground, I hear, but I'm told course will be watering from Thursday and if Danedream is running I cannot see why RM won't - she needs a bog to have a hope. He just needs a decent pace and the jock to place him in the race
