Aother failure when tried at highest level - jockey over confidence? Gave the leader a lot of rope.

all smullen's fault....miscalculation. Holding up FN so far back and taking it easy. Winner had all too easy and found plenty in the straight.

didn't see the race today but I have seen plenty of his Irish wins and he has been beating up handicappers in a lot of his Group 3s.

Sat back quite a bit off the pace, which didn't appear too hot, and the leader kicked off the turn, and din't stop. Famous Name had to use up a lot of energy to get within striking distance, and it proved too much for him, as he was never able to properly get on terms. With a better ride would have more than likely won. Jockey maybe thought he had a better horse than he did, or underestimated the opponents, as everyone seemed to be saying it's the weakest Group 1 they've seen. or words to that effect.

4/9
4/5
1/6
4/6
1/3
30/100
2/5

These are the odds he has started for his G3's in Ireland.

How often do you seen such heavy odds-on Favs in England like this for Group races ?!

Certainly wouldn't say he looks gone based on that performance, when he was an impressive winner the time before.

Didn't see the race but if Weld is serious about getting him a Group One, there's still options in Dusseldorf, Baden Baden, San Siro, Cologne and Capanelle over 2400m. Usually these contests are weak enough. So hopefully, he gets one somewhere!
