I'll keep my selections in here. My bets are pretty random. My opening bet is £50 on Dominant at 10/3 at York. Given his scope for improvement, and his weight allowance, i think he can go pretty close. It's a big step up, but the 13Ibs from Twice Over should give him a fighting chance. As for this thread, think along the lines of 'car crash' as opposed to 'fireworks'.

good luck with that.

Twice Over looks the bet of the day to me though.

The weight does not favour Dominant , 3YO are not as strong as older horses.

A 3 lb penalty for a Group 1`winner against these Listed class types is nowhere near enough.

I can see where you're coming from with regards to Twice Over. I don't think he's a 123 horse anymore. I think he's on a downward slope, regardless of what connections say. Too many excuses being made for the 6y/o. Dominant is a horse you know is going to pick up wins. I know the older horses are stronger, but he is an improver with a decent ammount of weight allowance. We will just have to see. I'm looking forward to it anyway.

Yeah i'm assuming he still has a bit left.

Not so good lately but he usually rediscovers his best during a season.

Graeme, his "weight allowance" was 3lbs. The rest was weight-for-age. It evens things up. It didn't give Dominant an advantage. I'm not aftertiming as I also backed Dominant at 10/3 but the so-called "weight allowance" played no part.

Point taken augustine. I just tally up the weight for age as part of an overall allowance. Today its Yaseer at 20/1, Strong Suit at 11/4 and Suited and Booted at 25/1. I hope Strong Suit will be hard to beat, and i'm hoping the higher prices can run a good race.

Today it's a small bet for bets sake on Man of Action at 45/1 for the mile. I was thinking about Memory, and what to do with her. Something strange happened as i was deliberating whether to wait to see if she jumps out the stalls or not. I'm playing a song by UB40 called 'Red red wine'. Whilst thinking about the bet the lyrics being sung were 'but memories won't go, no memories won't go'. Therefore i think i'll wait.

Cheers UB40. I though both Yaseer and Man of Action done well. Those two make me think i've got a half chance in the 345 at Goodwood with Evens and Odds 32/1 and Victoire De Lyphar 16/1.

my word and you say you have no ego
What's this nonsense about UB40, please ?

You really don't get it, do you ?...infact don't answer. I don't want you ruining my thread.

'' My thread''.

I think you dont know really understand the workings of an Ego.

I'll stop ruining your thread, when you stop attacking me.

People reading this will see it as clear cut, either put up or shut up attacking people and making assumptions.

So what was the point in starting this thread Graeme ? Was your intention to show people just how stupid you are and how quickly you can lose money ?

Or did you actually harbour some hope of producing a profit.

Why on earth would you start a betting thread if you thought beforehand it was going to be ''car crash''. Where is the logic here ..

I've created this thread to eventually print it out and leave it as a family heirloom

Perplexing.

Just another forum loon who backs down when challenged and positively shats himself when faced with the task of making real money.

It's far easier to pick Losers, isn't it?

do you bet over jumps, Graeme83 ?

Why all the disagreements? There is flat and nh betting threads up already graeme, have you thought about trying it? Nobody takes any stick, good banter and best of all helps with your discipline while punting, well thats what ive found. The more the merrier I say.
Anyway goodluck if you decide 2 keep posting here

Cheers pieceofcake. I created it to have a banter, instead of maybe going in to the main thread and have it ruined. People can come in and laugh at anything that runs purely or criticise selections. Today its a e/w Wootten Bassett at 20/1. There are a few things in his favour today, but Dream Ahead will be very hard to beat.
