well said sportinglife

utterly pointless outing, we still don't know a thing about him, just the way they like it
Report sintonian September 3, 2011 8:39 PM BST
He is far better than his finishing position.
Report tobermory September 3, 2011 9:29 PM BST
Looks another one like Jan Vermeer etc

Would anyone make him fav to beat Famous Name?
Report jonibake September 3, 2011 10:12 PM BST
Better than his finishing position? Yes should have finished 5th not 6th. I am sorry but this horse has shown a terrible attiture pretty much each time he has run. One to steer clear of.
Report soldieroffortune September 3, 2011 10:34 PM BST
Very much in need of that today gents, given it was his first run since Epsom where he struggled to handle the track. He's much better than today's finishing position would suggest.
Report jonibake September 3, 2011 10:55 PM BST
He's terribly quirky though SOF no? I am sure he has plenty of talent but will be the devils own job to harness it imo.
Report A_T September 3, 2011 10:57 PM BST
Ballydoyle 3 year olds well exposed now - they're nothing special
Report keynes September 3, 2011 11:30 PM BST
He's much better than today's finishing position would suggest.

But the same goes for all of his runs. Aidan should really have this guy sorted out by now
Report trev w September 4, 2011 10:41 AM BST
just overated to me...apart from his win in france last yr...non of his form stacks up at all to grp 1 quality...
perhaps he needs heavy he got in france..or maybe that was just against the others day....
Report mightymoyes September 4, 2011 12:18 PM BST
A_T, bit harsh on treasure beach, maybe not special but very decent.
Report EastLower Gooner September 4, 2011 2:16 PM BST

I like Recital but agree the horse has his weird ways!

But you know Aidan - Recital has been off a while and seemingly was "Just" ready to start back so let's be fair, he was probably just out to get a feel for a racecourse. Do not surprised if he goes and wins a Group race the next day easily - because Aidan's previous form suggests the horse will be a lot better next time out.
Report rubyisgodinthesaddle September 7, 2011 12:42 AM BST
I loved Recital SYT at the start of the season but i think now he just has no chance of reaching his potential.
Report SoYouThink September 7, 2011 9:48 AM BST
Ruby,

Maybe so but in my opinion there is a very strong chance that Recital will be Ballydoyle's number one hope in the Champion Stakes - it'll be him or Treasure Beach.

I'm surprised I haven't seen this mentioned before but Aidan always sends one of his top 3yos to Newmarket. In fact, the only time he didn't was when the 4yo Mingun got beat in 2004 as a 33/1 outsider. The 11 other runners he's run in the race have all been 3yos who hadn't gone for Arcs or Breeders Cups - which is also why there's very little chance that the Champion Stakes will be a target for So You Think.
Report sintonian September 7, 2011 10:52 AM BST
Whats happening with Await The Dawn ?
Report SoYouThink September 7, 2011 10:57 AM BST
Sint....I am only speculating but I think ATD might run in the Group 3 Diamond Stakes on Sept 30th and then go for the BC Classic. Could be entirely wrong but it does look as if "the dream" is still on.
Report Pleasegivemeanailedontip September 7, 2011 7:31 PM BST
Ballydoyle guessing game particularly difficult at the moment but i've decided to take the view that they won't win fack all else this season so it doesn't matter.
