Green destiny was very impressive in the magnet cup and only has a 3/lb penalty to carry. Thats the good news, the bad news is that
this race is over a mile and he's clearly better over a longer trip . Goodwoods mile is one of the Quickest in the country and 7f horses
often run well there , I doubt he'll have the pace to figure.  Due to track configuration a low draw is a very big advantage making
AP betting in the race difficult.. If your horse is drawn high on fast ground it's chance diminishes dramatically.
Dance and Dance has very solid form but top weight of 9-10 could sink him. There are a lot of exposed handicappers in the field
which doesn't look that strong. personally I like the look of the 2  3y/o's cai shen and sagramor especially sagramor who has
shown a very strong will to win attitude in his last 2 races . Unfortunately Sagramor will probably not get a run due to his low rating.
You'd have to respect the chance of Start right but he's likely to be overbet given the amout of publicity theres been about his
recent runs.  Green destinys presence in the race is a big advantage ,if like me you think he'll lack the pace needed,as it boosts
the prices of the other runners.

Totally agree with your thoughts on Green Destiny, and said the same on the other site,Balducci for me in this, but like you say,the draw is a big issue in this,so no AP bets.

Totesport Mile fancy Start Right sold to Dubai
By David Milnes 2:21PM 14 JUL 2011

SMART handicapper Start Right, second favourite for the Totesport Mile at Goodwood, has left Luca Cumani's Newmarket yard after being purchased by the Maktoum family to continue his career in Dubai.

The four-year-old won three of his 17 starts for Leonidas Marinopolous, the same owner who recently sold the Cumani-trained Royal Ascot runner-up Alkimos to Godolphin.

Start Right, who has previous experience of Dubai having finished fourth from a bad draw at Meydan in January, was runner-up to Highland Knight in the Coral Challenge Handicap at Sandown ten days ago.

He will not run again this season and will be saved for next year's Dubai Carnival, where he will race for a member of the ruling family.

Agree that anyone taking the current price about the fav must be off their trolley, not only is he cutting back in trip, he's also seem to prefer the wide open spaces of York and Newmarket where the whole width of the track was utilised, added to that he was reportedly unsettled by getting a bump against the rail at Ascot and Goodwoods one of the places where you get traffic galore.

Added to that i think that only one of the last 8 winners( the enigmatic but brilliant Laa RaybLove) havent  been in the 6 stalls nearest the rail. I would prefer something that can lie a bit handy as well at the godforsaken place.

I will be there that day as usual

LOL, just about TT

He never owed me anything though as i backed him in 2007 at 16-1 when he won and in 08 at 11-4 and 33-1 (International)

If only hed been drawn a bit higherSad

If the ground comes up soft at Goodwood ,which is rare but given the weather recently not impossible, then
a lot of the stuff i stated in the orginal post will be incorrect. firstly when its soft they often track
across to the near rail which negates the effect of the draw to some degree and also they'll be covering
a further distance . This would mean you could no longer dismiss Green destiny who would probably be a worthy
favourite.   On faster ground with the runners staying on the far side he's one to be taken on.
Report tinkler July 28, 2011 1:17 PM BST
With the ground, runners and draw known Sagramor looks the best bet @ 7/1.
Report zilzal1 July 28, 2011 1:27 PM BST
Im on Cai Shen, muddling race last time can be ignored and his Brittania run from a middle draw suggests that he could turn over Sagramor. oh and he's twice the price
Report tinkler July 28, 2011 2:45 PM BST
Only doubt about cai Shen is the draw. If hughes get get him over quick he's got to go close.
Report zilzal1 July 28, 2011 3:12 PM BST
Theyve been winning from out a little wider this week, obv you wouldnt want to be on the outside but 9 isnt a disaster

Im going tomorrow, the Oak Tree looks harder than the Totesport Mile!!!
Report tinkler July 28, 2011 4:09 PM BST
Law of the Range and perfect tribute look overpriced in the Oak tree. GL tommorrow.

Green Destiny got jarred up the last time he ran and very quick ground according to Haggas so I suspect he'll be begging the COC to get his hose out..

11/4 is a phucking shocking price for a race likes this

Pintura @ 20's for meCool
Report tinkler July 28, 2011 10:45 PM BST
Highland Knight looks to have a chance of overcoming his wide draw. He's got a lot of early pace and a lot
of the horses on his inner are hold up ones. If he gets a good position early he's got a strong chance,
he had the big sandown handicap won a long way out.
My 3 against the field are Sagramor @7/1, Highland Knight @14/1 and cai shen @14/1
Report sintonian July 28, 2011 10:55 PM BST
No bet for me in this.

Having looked through the race in more detail now I dont think the price about Green Destiny is as shocking as I first thought, but id still not back him at 11/4.

Man of Action is interesting for SBS/Dettori and I suspect he'll win a good race sooner or later but he has the worst draw of all so i'll just keep an eye on him.

gl! Cool

Much too difficult for me to try for the winner. I'm not sure Green Destiny will repeat his John Smith's Cup form and even if he does this is very competitive, has to be a lay at the price.

Close - but no cigarCry
Report tinkler July 29, 2011 3:54 PM BST
They should have taken sagramor out of the stalls and walked him up. It's no good for us who backed him to
say he came back lame probably as a result of him being so fractious in the stalls, they should have checked
it. p1ssed off.
Report Facts July 29, 2011 5:24 PM BST
True. Especially as they took him out of a race yesterday, because they were able to get into this one as first reserve !
