DT looks to have ideal conditions to beat the wonder filly. It appears the ground was v.firm at Newbury last week when he didn't let himself down. 1m 1f on g/s on a turning track looks ideal.. He's a nibble horse and draw 1 is perfect and a big positive round longchamp. Goldikova barely stays 1m1f and only just hung on last year she's getting older too and surely cann't keep on winning . Byword is very consistent but needs a bit further. Ransom Note won't have the pace needed on a turning track. Dick turpin will hopefully hold his rail position and swoop late on to win at a very big 8/1.
she wont be beaten today, gets the 9f easy enough and won with plenty to spare last year producing her customary turn of foot to put the race to bed before OP easing down towards the line taking it easy on her,F Head made the mistake of leaving her to short of fitness in this race 2 years ago when 7th and promised then not to make the same mistake again, she will be plenty fit enough to deal with this lot

Ground listed in Racing post as Good to soft , yet owner offers excuse that the ground was too fast for DT. I've had enough of the horse having blown my money on him 2 weeks running. Goldikova was there for the taking today but she still just manages to win again- shes probably the best mare ever seen on a racetrack.

Not fair to compare Goldikova to any horse that was retired to breed at only 3. The mare is amazing 6 years old and as good as ever. Hardly ever runs a bad race.

Not trying to say one is better than the other as we all know what Goldikova has gone on to achieve - just wondering what Zarkava might have achieved in time, having been one of a small select band of horses to have beaten Goldikova, winning Boussac, Pouliches, Vermeille and Arc.

Goldikova has been winning the best mile races for years now and unlike the sprinters or stayers its the most competitive division of all. I cann't remember a Miler being able to do this year in year out. She's a total freak ,the likes of which is unlikely to be seen again for a very long time. Zarkava, Sea to the Stars and Dancing Brave were great horses for a year and its not the horses fault that they didn't race beyond 3. Would they have beaten Goldikova at their peak probably yes , would they have been able to keep winning group ones up to the age of 6 I very much doubt it. Its sad that we'll never Know for sure.
