Saamid missed a the kick out of the stalls, and Casamento was simply out powered. You'd have been more pissed off if they sent nobody. I think they should be commended for having runners.

10th and 12th out of 13 runners is hardly running right horses in right races.

Crisford on Blue Bunting on their website,

"She is more of an Oaks filly than a Guineas one and I imagine she will go for an Oaks trial. She has done fine this winter and we are just bringing her along slowly."

There's nothing commendable about making it up as you go along.

Errr - you were sayingLaugh

Crisford put people away with that quote, imvho.
Report hippie May 1, 2011 4:12 PM BST
I didn't say anything Crisford said it and as Sintonian has pointed out, he put people away.

Don't think they 'put people away'. Blue Bunting simply ran above expectations - they'd have been more than happy with a place but the race rather fell into their lap.
Report jamesp May 1, 2011 9:01 PM BST
I agree, I don't think that Crisford was deliberately trying to mislead people about Blue Bunting.  Even the trainer admitted he'd got the filly completely wrong, believing that she would need a trip (and/or softer ground).  If White Moonstone had been fit to run today, Godolphin would have had a 1-2.
Report hippie May 1, 2011 10:03 PM BST
You can't just award White Moonstone the race because the winner is in the same ownership and whether it was deliberate or not he put people away with that comment and all the subsequent comments made about the horse in the run up to the race hence the huge starting price.

Hindsight  etc etc
How odd that the 2kG was one of the most obviously predictable races in the history of newmarket
& the 1kG was one of the most wide open with all of those priced in single figs hideously overbet
Something had to win it & if crisford didnt know about it then for me that just about sums up the unpredictable nature of the result
Well done godawful

They've decided to stop pulling horses to improve their handicap mark. Laugh
