Well done the early beievers in Frankel last August, unlucky sintonian we cant all spot all time greats early.

2/1 the Derby take it he will win by not one but two streets.

I honestly can't see Frankel winning the Derby.  When he first made an impression last season I thought he would be a Derby type, based partly on his form (he won over a mile on debut) and partly on his breeding, but he has simply got faster and faster, and unless he's the reincarnation of Pegasus he surely won't last a mile and a half.  Personally, I'd keep him to a mile, but there's certainly no harm trying him over 10f.  A truly great Guineas winner, but definitely one to swerve as far as the Derby is concerned.

I havent backed him Guineas as I think there will be good competition with much better form on display at the moment with the Godolphin horse beating other Group horses in a canter. Strong Suit has shown better speed than anything for me this season before his below par run last time out. Hannon has said he thinks he undercooked him for that and that he is back to the form before the Coventry. Like Canford in the Morny think we can forgive him one run where he was not ridden to his strengths. Already the Guineas is looking a hot race with lots of v good Group form on show. Frankels form doesnt compare at these trips. He impressed against Nathaniel but his speed was staged and he wound up the gears gradually. It wasnt the electric burst of a Guineas winner for me.

In fairness to Eric his debut was that more of a potential derby horse than gns horse.
Unfortunately poor lad digs himself so far in to trench he is unable to acknowledge that what he has seen since is that of a top class miler not a derby winner.
I will be truly amazed if he runs in the Dante(& they need a 1m 2 run to clear the doubts) that effort must have taken 1 huge effort
St James Palce next call imo

Frankel's Derby layers will all be coming out of the woodwork now to plead he doesnt run ... hardly surprising. With a Greenham ride they know they are done for. What a horse this one can go one further than Dancing Brave in the Derby given the chance. Am expecting backers of other horses in the Derby and Frankel layers to be extremely worried now the threads on here will b engulfed with them.

Obviously as with Captain Chris the Arkle nobody is going to admit their Derby position on here so people dont dismiss their posts as pocket talk which is ultimately what it is and disingenuous. I have believed this horse will get the trip a long time he will cruise the Derby and win as he likes simple as.

eric, no need to try and taint other posters ALL THE TIME - your clearly unwell mentally and it is nobodys fault on here.

This is just another tragic gloating thread from someone so desperate he has to start threads claimning horses to be injured when they not.

Btw, you didn't even back Frankel for the Guineas. So calm yourself down, a bit.

28 years here and rarely get this vibe from HRAC.
We all know backing a horse for Guinea and Derby leads to the poorhouse
long term and you are best making your choice which.
This is a rare occasion I will go for both Derby early, Guineas late. He has come on for his last run so
let's hope he is the real deal

personally i think frankel, although apparently v talented is just another overhyped horse like st nick was last season!i

mean he won the rp thophy as easy as you like on the bridle as he hit the front!!

frankel looks a speed horse to me and a horse that loves cut!!im just going by my eyes of course and i may be proved wrong

in time and thats fine but i think you all should be careful before getting sucked in to this as i see the same comments

every year someone puts up  a good performance!!

nathaniel hasnt even won a race yet and he got to within half a length of him on 1st run!i think hes just beat average

horses very well so far but he will face stiffer tests soon!!he hasnt even run in a truly run race yet on good ground!you'd

go broke backing these horses for guineas and derbys!

wait until he faces a horse that isnt listed class on good ground in a truly run race and they youll find out how good he

is!!

All from the same original Frankel thread in date order below.

If a great horse ran past the bushes 25 lengths clear in a Classic with flashing neon lights displaying the words 'I am Pegasus' stopping half a furlong out to have a pedicure and to check out Rachel on Countdown's dress before rejoining the race and winning 6 lengths hard held you would still not identify it as a great horse.

If we get Betfair to start a forum titled 'Mugs Only' you would surely be the first poster on there.

I have listened to your advice and taken the 2/1 about Frankel winning the Derby as winning by "two streets " sounded an awful long way to me.

People are now telling me that he isn't running.

What should I do ?

SLife site now. If you heard HRAC's interview as they did you will suss he is looking to up him in trip.

FRANKEL EPSOM DERBY ODDS TUMBLE

Cecil hinted he may next run Frankel in the Dante at York, while his impressive Newbury maiden winner World Domination is pencilled in for the Lingfield Derby trial.

William Hill reacted to Frankel's win by slashing his odds to 6/4 favourite (with a run) from 4/1 for Epsom.

They quote him at odds of 2/1 to continue extending his unbeaten run throughout the 2011 season.

Frankel was also promoted to 4/1 second favourite (from 12/1) for the all-age King George at Ascot in July and to 5/1 favourite from 12/1 for the Prix de L'Arc de Triomphe.

Spokeswoman Kate Miller said: "Can Frankel do it again around Epsom? He'll need to be a superstar but maybe Flat racing has found its newest icon."

Ladbrokes meanwhile make Frankel their 3/1 favourite for the Derby and their spokesman David Williams said: "Frankel was devastating in the Guineas but we're still keen to lay him for the Derby.

"With so many question marks still remaining over his credentials for Epsom we're prepared to take a few more hits at 3/1."

Totesport have Frankel as their 9/4 favourite (from 7/2) for Epsom., with spokesman George Primarolo reasoning: "Frankel's brilliant Guineas win will certainly split punters into two camps and for every one that thinks he won't stay the Derby trip in a horsebox, there will be another who won't hear of defeat for him."
