GREEN PARK Talented performer; especially around the turns of the Roodee. Doesn't often sparkle first time out though and has been given the worst draw of all coupled with stiff mark.
CONFESSIONAL Turned in some eye catching runs since being fitted with the eye shield and wouldn't be a surprise to see him pop up in contest like this as only just denied on seasonal bow last year. Iffy draw but only 4lbs higher than last win in decent company.
MIDNIGHT MARTINI Another from the Easterby yard and once again the draw hasn't been kind. However, showed good form last term and likely to improve at four now. Group Three placed at two, she could be a bit better than her current mark.
LENNY BEE Winner of this last term off 5lbs lower; Dale Swift booked to negate that today. No surprise to see him run well once more but others may be better treated on this occasion.
ARGANIL Never the most convincing on turf and ground likely to be against him here. Other days probably beckon for him and, while his mark is quite low for his ability, others are preferred.
FOL HOLLOW Winner of this two years ago off 3lbs less but should enjoy the quick conditions today. Not been handed the best of draws but Adrian on board should be a plus and plenty talented enough off this mark to play a hand in the finish.
BREATHLESS KISS More suited to the AW these days and it'd be a surprise to see him come out on top in a contest like this with some talented handicappers involved.
WHOZTHECAT A scorer on debut last season and ended the turf campaign with a pleasing third behind Hoof It at Doncaster. Apprentice claims a useful 5lbs and he remains open to improvement being lightly raced. Should enjoy the ground.
ROCKET ROB Highly consistent sort for the past two seasons but latest run his poorest to date when trailing home last at Lingfield on debut for new yard and may be best to wait until they have worked him out.
HUMIDOR Fair progress last season and goes on any ground. Sure to make the improvement from three to four and has bagged himself a good draw for this. Should come on for his latest run on the AW and cannot ignore.
DUCHESS DORA Likely to enjoy the return to this much quicker surface after facing easier going for most of last season. Goes well fresh and the champion jockey an interesting booking; one from one at track and dropped in weights. Tough draw.
NOODLES BLUE BOY Decent form to his name and closely matched with Beat The Bell on their last race at Musselburgh (2lbs well off now). Three wins and a second from five starts at the track so it'd be no surprise to see him go close despite the rise in class.
TABARET Very tricky to predict but did win off this mark at the start of last season. Clearly possesses the ability if on song but age creeping up on him and chance a younger foe might pass him by.
BEAT THE BELL Performed really well since being moved to the Barron yard and comes into this off just 2lbs higher than when scoring at Musselburgh in October. Ground no issue and plenty to like from his good draw.
HAMOODY Won decent Goodwood sprint last term for Dandy but looks like he's a quirky customer and tricky to win with now after being highly talented at two. Apprentice claim will help matters but maybe best watched for now.
FALASTEEN Could easily improve for Dandy now switched to him from the Fahey yard and shown signs of ability on latest start. Fitter than most here but wins have been in a lower grade than this.
SOLEMN Never out of the first three at the track and has landed the plum draw for this. De Souza a solid booking jockey wise but on a fairly high mark and may need to drop a few pounds before winning again.
SUMMARY
Interesting early season sprint at Beverley and with the new rules in play the best draw is now low instead of the traditional high as was the case for so many years at the Yorkshire venue. A few are of interest but the one with the most potential looks to be BEAT THE BELL. He’s only 2lbs higher here than when scoring at Musselburgh on his third start for the Barron yard back in October and it’s likely there is more improvement to come. He finished a very creditable seventh in the Ayr Bronze Cup when on the wrong side and has been handed a good draw in stall four for today’s contest. Others to note are Fol Hollow and Duchess Dora. The former has an excellent record around here and shows his best on today’s going. Adrian gets on well with him and he’s on a mark her can make the most of. The latter has never finished outside the top three in a race on good to firm and while she will probably be hindered massively from her wide draw there should be improvement from her and Hanagan has already scored for John Quinn this term after one ride.
Hard to fancy anything outside the market leaders, imo. Interestingly: The last 3 runnings of this event have gone to a 4 year old, and they have been drawn (revised now) in stalls 1,3 and 1. Humidor is a 4 year old drawn in stall 3, and has a 3 out of 3 record for jockey Matthew Davies.

like the other 2 you mention vk...so a bit on fol gollow & DD both @ big prices.
iirc..they were winning from varied draws @ bev. last yr...so not gonna get too drawn in...till i see a few races there this season.

Bit of a surprise winner if you ask me; only won once on turf and seemed on a pretty high mark for what he'd achieved. But fair play, he won.
Two thirds from two races; not the worst start to the flat season so I'll keep going in search of the first winner.
So close! Just pegged back in the last 50 yards Bit of a surprise winner if you ask me; only won once on turf and seemed on a pretty high mark for what he'd achieved. But fair play, he won.Two thirds from two races; not the worst start to the flat se
VK -Just a thought but with so many sprint races throughout the season , maybe it would be better to stick to races of a certain class/value ? I just stick to the heritage and better class h'caps over 7fur + . Up to you of course .Good luck , cc .

What I do is stick to Class Two and Class Three 5f and 6f handicaps with a fair amount of runners in them; say 14+. There will be times when I won't be able to do a preview for some of those races due to work etc, but these first two ones of the season that have qualified have been enjoyable to try and crack. Really thought Beat The Bell was going to win today until he was collared in the last 50 yards; a nose and a neck, so close!

VK - Ok . Interesting you choose to follow the class 2 & 3 races . It's good to try and specialise and you get a 'feel ' for the horses as the season develops . It's a fine line between winning and losing over the season . You just need a few photo finishes to go your way ! All the best , cc .
