As ever, it's impossible to be too bullish about any horses chance in the National, but I can't quite understand the price of the Nicholls' " 3rd string " THE TOTHER ONE.

Ahead of him are; What A Friend, who has not surprisingly attracted a lot of support since his 4th placing in the Gold Cup, but comes here as an afterthought, and Niche Market, who could very well run a big race, but has no better chance than THE TOTHER ONE on their Hennessy run.

The Tother One has always been well regarded, though has often been let down by his shoddy jumping ( although he's only ever hit the deck once previously ). He's always suggested that he'd be suited to distances in excess of 3M, as he finishes his races strongly ( can be forgiven his run in Welsh National on account of bottomless ground ) and this offers him a chance to prove that.

Both Niche Market & The Tother One sidestepped Cheltenham to wait for this, and Pumkinhead has apparently built some " Aintree fences " at home in preparation for this. If he can just get his juming together, and at 3x the price of Niche Market, I feel THE TOTHER ONE offers excellent value at the current 50/1.

think i have to agree with you, there are a lot worse 50-1 chances in the race  and he has a touch of class about him of course we dont know how he will react to the course bt then its the same for a lot of the fancied horses midnite club ,what a frnd included ,can see him travelling well in behind if he does take to it and he is one of 3-4  i am interested in each way.good luck

Poor jumping will get found out and the price reflects this. WAFs price is WAY too low imo.

Put up a thread on TTO months ago for this race, although I backed him at 33/1 (shrewd [smiley:crazy] )

will dig it up [;)]

Why would you want to dig up a bet on a horse who won't get to halfway? Laugh

West End Rocker wins this by 2 lengths.

If he's been let down by his jumping you are picking the wrong race to back him in.  First thing to look for, sound jumper.  Especially on the good ground we'll get, you cannot make a mistake and win.

Whatever his fate, 110 is a stupid price.
