I backed the horse because on all figures he was the best in the race. He just had to prove he had trained on. 12/1 seemed a good price for that doubt imo.

Backed nrnb earlier in the week so ground conditions wouldn't come into it. Tbh I was safe in the knowledge that if ground was too quick Simcocck would withdraw the horse and I would get my stake back.

I agree with sint, to many people going overboard about his need for soft, trainer has always stated he just won't risk him on anything quicker than good ground. Understandable considering he is by far the best horse he has ever trained.
