I don't often see something that looks such very good value as this.
Bang in form and a small penalty for winning a massive hurdle last time, he looks sure to be very well suited by the strong likely pace and equally certain to be much better suited by the good going, even better than when he won at Ascot last time out.
Of course its a very competitive race with loads of potential top notchers in it and Walk On may even reverse Ascot form.
But just look at the facts
Bang in form
has just won a £23,000 hurdle
has a pitiful 5 lb penalty for that win
near the top on post mark
likely to improve again
will love the ground
The Racing Post said after his latest win: "there is every reason to believe he is still capable of improving further on this career-best display. His odds were slashed from 66-/1 to around 16-1 for the Totesport Trophy, for which he´ll pick up a 5lb penalty and, while he would have more on his plate, the nature of that race would very likely suit him."
Okay he's no certainty, nothing is in a race like this, but he has an obvious chance.
Now here's the amazing thing. I just backed him at 54/1 on here - WITH A RUN as the day of the race market has now been formed.
This is a very very long price for a horse with his profile.

He is decent value but I really think he found improvement for the extra trip last time out and stayed on really well that day. I had backed him as well as the 2 fallers at the second last purely because they all had good form in the race Mille Chief won.
Personally I'd stay away or maybe have a squeak place only now he is dropped back in trip again. He will probably run ok finish about 6th and then pop up over around 2 and a half miles or so and win again at a big price.

I did some sectionals on the Ascot race and it was really set up for a closer (TOT came from last to first)....the race was over 8 secs quicker to the 7th hurdle (5 out) than the novice Poungach won later on card but nearly 7 secs slower from that point to line ie Lough Derg took them along fast but leaders were tiring from some way out. I think he'll struggle to get into it back at 2m on Sat, but that's why he's 50/1+ so not much to lose at that price. Best of luck.
Wierd. I backed Tarkari in the week expecting Moloney to ride it. Yet he is riding TOT and is twice the price. How wierd is that. So I backed it as well.
Now I know. Segal has tipped Tarkari. Thank goodness I took the 38s in the week, I was going to wait. And yes, I have backed TOT because he looks like the stable jockey pick. All I can think is that there is a trainer comment in the Post today Segal has sight of but we, as yet, haven't. We'll see.
agree with dunc, moloney shrewdly picked up the pieces last time for me. dont see where the pace war will come from today.
unlucky Brigust Tarkari is a NR this morning. Jacob riding well lately too.
wonder if he had something to do with trainers comments about schooling him last week and McCricirick criticising him on the Morning Line for saying as much.
