There dont appear to be many fans of West End Rocker
![]() This horse has won 2 from 3 this season including a Grade 3 H'cap. He is on a rapid upward curve imo and if he did not PU lto when the ground was atrocious he'd be around 16/1 imo. When he ran in the Scottish National in 09 off 137 he was badly hampered at the 20th and then pulled up. He's 4lb higher for the weekend but conceivably could be higher had he won that day. Handicapper gave him a chance as he had a year off and started this campaign off 129. 141 is still workable imo. |

Northern Alliance 50-50 to make it....

Dont know what to make about the Northern Alliance comments. I really like his chances and have supported the horse accordingly but I would rather he be pulled from the race if all is not well than give my money to the bookies when he pulls up after a circuit. Barry Geraghty is usually straight up in his comments on his ATR blog so maybe we will know more tomorrow. Ive never had anything to do with horses but would have thought that horses can recover quite quickly from stone bruises so it may not be all that bad.

WER is one of 5 I have been backing throughout the winter and it has a decent chance in my book. Will definitely prefer better ground and hopefully he will get into a rhythm fairly quickly, has looked a bit iffy jumping his first few fences this year but when he starts popping away he looks good. Jockey didn't knock him about last time at Haydock on desperate ground when his chance had gone so probably a bit overpriced on here at the moment. good luck |

Some idiot said Ballabriggs was a "very doubtful stayer" earlier on this thread.
Congratulations to those who backed the horse, a thoroughly deserved success from a very brave animal. |

agree. McCain some trainer.
Robert Thornton (West End Rocker, brought down 6th): "I got brought down. I was jumping like a buck and thought I was in for some ride but then got brought down." gutted, I was so convinced he'd have gone close to winning. |
