expect a 5 runner race.....Toubab bolting up on soft ground . Given that Sam Winner will go for the Triumph and Rock on Ruby for the Neptune where will Toubab and Brampour (and Dolatulo ) aim for?

nicholls has said a few times that sam winner isnt certain to go for the triumph, would guess brampour will. toubab supreme?
Report Minger • January 4, 2011 3:43 PM GMT
That would presumably leave Toubab and Sam Winner in the Supreme.... will become clearer after the weekend athough both Henderson and Nicholls seem to be juggling alot of nice novice hurdlers at the moment.Ante post market is a nightmare for Chelts.

"As everyone knows, I like to be as honest and open with the public as possible, and that is why I immediately mentioned after he won at the weekend that he is not a certainty to go for the Triumph (for which he is the 7.2 favourite on Betfair).

I simply won't risk him on fast ground, and he is a tremendous chasing prospect"

That's the quote, but wouldnt have thought it will be fast ground, maybe just go for the supreme? would still have plenty of decent juveniles (brampour, indian daudaie, dolatulo etc) in the triumph, and has rock on ruby and al ferof for the staying novice hurdles, plus the horses we havnt seen yet like rangitoto. Looks very strong!

al ferof would be doing well to reach a top10 finish in any festival race he contested

ok, one bad one :) but the rest look sharp!

Wetter than an otter's pocket out there - be a real gruelling test up the Sandown hill. Minella Class has form on heavy.....could it out stay Toubab?
Report two ticks • January 7, 2011 11:56 PM GMT
i think Minella Class will perform better than Toubab on the heavy ground, wouldnt be surprised if Toubab was a non-runner tomorrow.
Report Alvarado • January 8, 2011 12:29 AM GMT
toubab will defo run i like minella class a lot but hes a big baby still with little experince whereas toubab is battle hardened
Report thefarmer • January 8, 2011 3:38 AM GMT
Minella Class for me. I think Toubab is a bit quirky and the race may develop into a sprint which may play into the hands of the Henderson horse. Toubab is defo a lay for me.

think minella theatre will win on this ground, n toubab to take at least a place in supreme
Report eric_morris • January 8, 2011 7:24 PM GMT
Impressive think he would go well on good ground also.
Report Paul4 • January 8, 2011 9:05 PM GMT
i think good ground will suit both better, just toubab to a greater extent

minella class  just a better horse very impressive on good ground at newbury last month too anyone else notice how good looking he is gorgeous horse
Report eric_morris • January 9, 2011 10:53 AM GMT
Couldnt fasncy Toubab after that he seemed to flounder even for the ground. Minella looked a fresh horse who had more to give and can see better ground helping him.
Report revedesivola • January 9, 2011 10:57 AM GMT
i thought it was quite a poor renewal and i wouldnt be surprised if the form wasnt up to much at g1 level
Report thefarmer • January 9, 2011 11:00 AM GMT
The winner was most impressive and it is hard to make excuses for the others. Toubab looks like a bridle horse to me and finds little under pressure. His future must surely lie over fences as he doesn`t look good enough to figure at the top level over hurdles.

The winner won so easily be surprised if there wasnt much more to come from him.
