JACK DOYLE broke his right leg in two places in a fall at Hereford on Sunday.

He was taken to Hereford General Hospital after Kilbready Star hit the top of the sixth fence and somersaulted in the 2m3f handicap chase.

Earlier in the afternoon, Doyle had ridden a winner on Court By Surprise in the novices' hurdle.

After his fall, medics were immediately on the scene. Clerk of the course Keith Ottesen said: "Unfortunately, Jack has broken his tibia and fibula. It's is an identical injury to Ruby Walsh's."

Great shame for jockeys to get injured at this time of year. They will miss most of the main part of the season. Big headache for trainers.
