Australia Day 11-10 Ashkazar 11-8 Black jack Blues 11-3 Dee EE Williams 11-2 American Trilogy 11-1 Barizan 10-13 Nearby 10-12 Tito Bustillo 10-4 Leslingtaylor 10-4 Ultimate 10-4 Simply Blue 10-4
4 front runners (the top 3 plus Barizan)should set this up for a closer with Nearby, leslingtaylor and Tito Bustillo the main candidates. Les is 17lbs better off with Nearby when they were 3rd and 4th respectively in a hot handicap at Aintree won by Dee Ee Williams. The rest have either got something to prove or have been handed big raises in the weights.EG, Australia Day is up 22lbs from his Summer win at market Rasen. This is my lucky race with two runs and two wins in the last five years. Crow Wood 2006 and Kings Quay 2007. les is aiming to complete the hat trick and has never been better. He has gone up 10lbs on the flat this year and is in great form at home.3lbs out of the handicap doesn't bother me in this race where they all have gone up so much in the weights.
Could be a fst run race with Australia Day and Barizan to take each other on so could suit Nearby to sit off the pace and come and take them on the long run to the second last.

booster, you could be spot on. but with 4 supposed front runners, they could steal a march on the hold up horses and leave them with too much to do?? Plus, in Australia Day's last two races he hasn't come off the bridle, so am not really sure what his turn of foot is like... and the speed that he travels at with such ease could make him a real force to be reckoned with. I'm a fan of black jack blues, but fear that Australia day will be too classy for him, and the rest of the field.

I must agree. Paul Webber seems to think he's Champion hurdle class but wouldn't be suited to the demands of that particular race, in which case he'd have to go well here and follow that up by running well in a Christmas Hurdle. Not much for him after that really.

We were very disappointed with les . He couldn't go the pace on that quick ground. It walked on the soft side of good in the morning but when they put water on at the last minute it doesn't get through and it rides much faster than it walks. As les gets older he needs a bit more cut and he won't be risked on ground that fast in future. He is still in the Greatwood off 3lbs lower and might take his chance if conditions are right. Thanks for all the good wishes.
