How many lengths head start will Hughes give Goldikova in the Breeders Cup Mile in a few days time ? The French horse always seems to get first run as RH overdoes the waiting tactics. This will be the horse's last race, so why not try a different tactic like laying up with Goldikove or even kick for home earlier than usual and let the old rival chase PB for a change.Exagerated waiting tactics have not worked four times out of four, but can Richard Hughes or Richard Hannon see what many others see ?

Seemed like pilot error did for Paco Boy at Ascot

It will all depend on the draw. I see nothing wrong with holding him up a bit as he obviously likes something to aim at. Hopefully the ground is fast enough for him. Goldikova is my favourite flat horse and i'd be delighted if she won, but Paco Boy was 7s so i had a bet double on him and Behkabad. I feel that he has a right good chance at landing this if the ground is quick enough.

it doesnt matter how many lengths he sits off her, he cant get by, if u dont realise this by now im afraid its too late.

Wavingatbuses (sorry should that read busses).........Goldi has beaten Paco boy the last 3 times with a total winning margin of 1 length, after Hughes (as always) exaggerates his waiting tactics.
If you cannot comprehend that RH might have cajoled PB to a win over the French filly with an average 0.34 of a length to find (after giving her a start) then you do not have a mind open to conjecture.

Personally think he would have won cosily at Longchamp if he didn't have such a terrible draw. Confused

I don't subscribe to that MM. I thought Goldi was a comfortable winner LTO.

Plain Swap their places in the stalls different result.

Nah ...Hanon said it doesn't matter where PB gets drawn as he likes to get dropped in anyway. Goldikova took it from the front in the Foret, then peslier let Regal Parade get in front then took control, good jockeymanship as he didn't want to move too early and risk paco Boy coming back like Ascot. I think she won a bit more comfortably than the margin suggests. Paco Boy at 7s was always going to be a better bet for the mile all the same.

he'll never beat goldikova imo. if he hasnt by now he never will, he's had his chances, he has to be dropped in, he only has one burst, he couldve went by her in the queen anne, look again, he wasnt good enough, end of. back him to beat her again and youre just throwing your money away or clutching at straws.

always excuses, its sad. theres a reason shes won so many g1's in comparison to paco, shes better, plain and simple. only soft ground will get her beat over a mile.

Hannon is HARDLY gonna call his sin-in-law a poor judge of pace... EVEN if he MUST come from behind, he might JUST try coming from 1-2 lengths... NOT 8-10!!!

Horses get into a style of running - creatures of habit... but swap JOCKEYS and you get a different result, IMVHO...  obvious to all and sundry PB has been using his petol/turbo GETTING to the leader, not going PAST... I believe if they try riding off the pace in the USA they'll be stuffed, big time...

Love the horse to bits but not a penny of my money going on it ever until either a) Hughes starts to ride differently, b) change of jockey...

NOT sure how many rides Hughes has had in the USA... UNSENTIMENTAL/UNBIASSED voice would say get a local track specialist to ride it...

well this is your last chance to back him somerset as hes being retired after the race. my moneys on the mere as always, doesnt matter how far back or close up he is, she always has more in the tank and won the queen anne the hard way, he had a chance to go by but he couldnt.
Report ilikewavingatbuses • October 27, 2010 1:06 PM BST
if hughes has him 2L off her and gets beat you'll all be saying he shouldve sat 1L off her and he'd have won. 4-0 to the mere so far and last time it was over 7f, a distance he was previously unbeaten, hes not good enough.
