What do you think, Das, BJG .. ?
Report BJG October 18, 2010 5:29 PM BST
Extremely impressive last week i thought, beating 2 well regarded sorts(dont think the pedestrian early pace helped either of them though) I know the Gigginstown horse 18l back in 3rd was very well regarded and showin a bit at home

Could nt have been more impressive and quickened clear like a very good sort and one i put in my notebook as an early likely sort for Chelts
Report legend100 October 18, 2010 6:41 PM BST
no chance, willie has a few that would beat that field doing handstands, wait for the winners bumper in a few months think this is running in it and you'll know how good it is

Name one of Willies?
Report downallstar October 18, 2010 11:05 PM BST
Well he was impressive, and the stable had a posible bumper hores in The Real Article(was 3/3 in bumpers), and they were thinking about him for the bumper, but have decided to send him over hurdles, won his mdn well since. Both horses look worth following. One note, both are by Def Article, a sire whose progency excel on better gnd.
Report Rowley Mile October 18, 2010 11:37 PM BST
Lovely pedigree, nothing wrong with an early shout and me thinks this was the best regardless of how the race was run.
Report sintonian October 19, 2010 9:02 AM BST

Report neill d October 19, 2010 12:44 PM BST
Mullins says he doesn't have as many for bumpers this year, the team mightn't be as strong, saw this in paper
Report dgkelly84 October 20, 2010 1:14 PM BST
Will go hurdling if stays with O'Grady as per todays RP Stable Tour
Report sintonian October 20, 2010 4:19 PM BST
Hurdling .. when .. his next start .. ?
Report downallstar October 20, 2010 5:48 PM BST
...There's been a bit of interest in him, so there are no plans in the short term, it'll be up to the new owners what he does. I'd like to keep him if I can. He may go hurdling if thats the case - he jumps very well and I wouldn't keep him for the Cheltenham bumper, I'd aim him at the good novice hurdle races in the spring.
Report downallstar October 20, 2010 5:49 PM BST
The Real Article will be put away until after Cheltenham, Aintree or Punchestown is his aim.

Far too early to be calling the Bumper winner, the proper Jumps season is only just kicking off. Think you would need to see Staying Article run an end-to-end gallop for form a better opinion, as the pace that race started at was a joke.

Not sure why the owners would want to sell this beast tbh Silly

AFTER HIS BUMPER WIN IN PUNCHESTOWN..........14th.Oct.2010.

The concluding Stars Of Tomorrow Flat Race could have been well-named at Punchestown as Staying Article put up a smashing performance on his debut under James 'Corky' Carroll to slam the staying-on Watchmetail by fourteen lengths.
It may have been billed as a match between Joe Smooth and Oscar Hill but once Staying Article took over early in the straight the outcome was quickly decided. The five-year-old sprinted away with odds-on favourite Joe Smooth having to settle for third and the well-backed Oscar Hill disappointing in fifth.

Winning trainer Edward O'Grady said: "I'm very pleased. He is from a great family, he is a brother to the horse (Serein) that got disqualified in the bumper at Fairyhouse last Saturday. His dam is out of Michael O'Brien's Triumph Hurdle winner, Shawiya. It is a great Aga Khan family.
"He had one bit of work and I thought he might come on from this. I'm thrilled as we've been a long time waiting with him. He'll go for a winners race somewhere and we can hope for the moment that he'll be a Cheltenham horse.
"He could be sold and I just hope I can keep him in the yard."

AFTER HIS MAIDEN HURDLE WIN IN NAAS......10th.Nov.2010.

Staying Article looked a star of the future when landing a bumper at Punchestown 27 days back and despite proving to be extremely easy-to-back in the face of strong support for Rivage D'Or, the market got this one wrong as the former prevailed in the Racing Again At Naas On 24th November Maiden Hurdle.
Rivage D'Or looked like he was going to win when striking on before the last under Davy Russell and indeed he was matched in running at odds of 1/50. However as he showed on his debut Staying Article has a great turn of foot which he utilised to get up close home to score.

Winning trainer Edward O'Grady said: "I'm pleased for one of those (a Definite Article) that he went on the ground. He quickened up really well and he might have another run before being put away until the spring.
"He is progressing and looks to be going the right way. Andrew (McNamara) said the ground felt different riding him than it did on Shot From The Hip (2nd in the previous race). He is a nice horse, he jumps well and even over-jumped the last. He is in the Royal Bond (at Fairyhouse on November 29th)."

SEE YOU back in Naas at 2.50 on SATURDAY ! Devil

cheers Catch.

Look forwards to this beast returning to the track, although the amount of rain around against better opposition is a worry.

Would have finished 3rd had Organisedconfusion not blundered. Disappointing run from him imo but I suppose he is entitled to imprvoe having not run for over 1 year. Must have had some setbacks.
Report Swardean November 16, 2011 6:00 PM GMT
Didn't think he jumped great certainly not a fluent as the winner, first off the bridle of the fancied but plugged on really well and staying on well at the end.

That should have blown the cobwebs away and with a step up in trip, certain to win soon.
