Unfortunately Sint they are heading towards Saturday racing, which would be end of for me. Quality is being replaced for quanity and more confusion for ante-post markets!! They are just pandering to bookmakers,i e-mailed racing 4 change bankers what they though of increase in prices, they passed it to Cheltenham re Thursday-Friday tickets, needless to say no reply!!! They dont seem to realise recession affects punters/paying public!

yes the quality will certainly be diluted in this instance imo steve. You basically have two 2m4f races for novices that will be contested between about 40 runners instead of twenty. The festival is supposed to be about the best of the best, not the best of the best plus a few goats and donkeys.

Fast turning into a meeting with half a dozen standouts supported by decent but unspectacular Saturday fodder that is a million miles away from the Olympics of NH Racing that it used to be.
24th festival coming up for me. Will do 25th because of the milestone but as soon as they introduce a 5th day (which to me it's obvious they are striving towards - 4 days x 7 races & then BANG....Gold Cup Saturday), I know my group will be joining those that pick a couple of days and attend those. For the town of Cheltenham that will mean no 5 nights paying for digs & no 5 nights in town pubs & restaurants. We won't be the only ones.
Town's not as busy as it used to be now because of the 4th day & people picking & choosing. They are already having to jig things around next year so they can sell Ladies Day & ST Patricks day as 2 separate events.
It is very sad to seen and the greed of Gillespie & co will be to blame.

...and whilst I'm on the subject of Gillespie & co I will just say that your inability to be able to provide draft ****ss in The Insurance Bar has gone on long enough. It is pitiful and the main reason you will no longer be getting money out of us for seats when, on the very same level, it is avilable in the Istabraq.
