For me Little Josh will stuggle to handle the track, managed to get it all wrong when given an uncontested lead in the race won by Weird Al, then made two bad errors in the RSA before being eased down. Very long horse which impacts on his jumping technique, only seems comfortable jumping at his own pace and I cannot see him being allowed to do that in PP

I'm not sure Little Josh is good enough to be competitive in this. I seem to remember Ollie Magern ran very well in it as a novice perhaps Billie Magern might be entered??

Think FFT could be right but it doesnt really mater as the PP is the biggest foregone conclusion of the season.

COLIN TIZZARD, who enjoyed his best season in 2009-10 in finishing 18th in the trainers' championship, is hoping stable star Cue Card can spearhead another fruitful campaign, writes Richard Birch.

The Dorset trainer, whose team accrued pounds 362,274 in prize-money last term, welcomed 220 people to his owners' day on Sunday, when the 52 horses on parade included Cue Card, impressive winner of the Weatherbys Champion Bumper at the Cheltenham Festival.

Tizzard said yesterday: "The world is Cue Card's oyster. We have so many options with him - we could even run him on the Flat next summer. He will be ready to run at the end of next month and we'll look for a National Hunt novice hurdle over two and a half miles at somewhere like Kempton, Exeter or Wincanton. He'll have one run each month up until Christmas and we'll aim for Cheltenham in March."

Cue Card is currently as short as 8-1 favourite for the Supreme Novices' Hurdle at the festival.

Another of Tizzard's big guns, Hey Big Spender, will reappear in a graduation chase before a possible crack at the Hennessy Gold Cup in November, while Oiseau De Nuit, five times a winner at around 2m in 15 starts over fences, could be aimed at the King George if he proves he stays 3m.

Tizzard said: "Oiseau De Nuit jumps and settles so well now that he could get three miles. If that's the case, we might have a sniff at some of the bigger races with him. I could see him running a nice race in the King George. He improved throughout last season and looks even better this time."

Stable favourite Joe Lively is to be aimed at the cross-country race at Cheltenham in November, and Tizzard is excited about new arrival Kilmurry, who has joined the yard from Henry de Bromhead.

Tizzard said: "This is a proper horse. He won a novice chase at Galway last month and we'll run him at the first Cheltenham meeting to see how good he is. He's by the same sire as Cue Card [King's Theatre]."

Im not suggesting that Little Josh would win, just that i think he will be aimed the race & therefore will probably be well backed.

Braveinca2006 I think Great Endeavour looks a cracking horse and
think he will win this then go onto the Hennesssey. i personally think he is a 160+ horse and of a mark of 142 he will be thrown in.

I'll be on Endeavour for the double. Made a mint on him at 33's at Chelters simply couldn't believe his price. Here is hoping. Really thought Hey Big Spender would win this.

Pigeon Island entered next week at perth. 3 more runs then the PP. I'm not sure how much that horse will improve given its had a thousand runs in its life so far. Regarding HBS, if he s being aimed at the hennesy, does he definately stay the trip? Looks like he should, but not totally sure yet.

Agree totally re Great Endeavour. Was my horse to following over fences last season after he saw him in the flesh at the Paddy Power meeting. Dont you know i didnt back him at the Festival and of course i backed the second against him. I wont make that mistake again!

Pigeon entered at Perth because owner is on a day out - not a realistic contender for PP.

Btw, I dont know PI is having 3 more runs before the PP, was just joking about its typically arduous campaign.

PI won the grand annual after a terrific ride where everything fell right for it. If they re-ran that race 10 more times i dont think he'd win it once. I'm not sure how well he'll handle the higher mark (he didn't at aintree) given before the GA he didn't appear to be hiding anything from the handicapper and that race really just fell into his lap!

Kauto_- well off the mark, he goes to the Betfair chase, indeed they are having the press launch for the race at NTDs on 18th October

thanks for clearing that up bobby i thought it was a bit odd and proberly un true, as you have stated he was going betfair chase for a while.

Meat Loaf - No obvious contenders I would suspect Ballyfitz, Razor Royle, Buck The Legend, Little Josh, Rory Boy and Diablo would all be under consideration. Personally if it had the right mark I would see Carlitos as the horse with the most potential. Grand Slam Hero blew his mark with the Ffos Lass win after also winning the Summer Plate.

Yep Carlitos was a good hurdler before getting injured. Presumably Carlitos would need to win a race before the paddy Power to get in the race. Nigel seems to be lacking a bit this season with second season novices.

I think he is Meatloaf, but he has some younger horses coming through that look nice.

Lets hope so. I've never really liked the way he campaigns his novices so aggressively, I wonder what is left in their second season, but this seems quite common now, PFN at it, MCP did it too.

I think David Johnson will be back in the winners enclosure.....but not with Great Endeavour. A certain summer purchase i've read about looks very well handicapped!

Can't really see any of Twistons having a chance of winning this year. Twiston seems to have very few young chasers this season - a shame considering he had such a great season last year.
