so few horses from australia have raced overses until recently and knoe the world is becoming aware how superior our horses are... ordinary sprinters such as star spangled banner, choisir, takeover target, miss andretti, and scenic view have dominated in england in recent years. our one runner in the grand national was red rum.. we have one the japan cup and other asian classics and our best horses never leave home....kingston town was the best racehorse to grace the turf in the last half century... what do you think??
Myscrappy, CRISP was beaten by RED RUM, CRISP had been a champion in Australia and was shipped over here to try to win the Grand National, RED RUM was Irish bred and trained until he came to Britain to be trained by Bobby Renton, as he suffered badly from laminitis, he moved stables and owners until he was bought by NOEL LE MARE who sent him to "GINGER" Macain, regular sea dips improved his hooves and we know the rest. To get back to your claim, Australian horses can NEVER be the best in the world, as unlike the Australian people, most were chosen to populate Australia by Englands BEST judges, the horses NEVER had that advantage.

Only decent Aussie horse of the last century was Phar Lap.
I rate Takeover Target and Choisir and a couple of other sprinters, but the likes of Makybe Diva were massively over-rated. She flopped in Japan, and had every advantage they could give her at Flemington.
That said I was a huge fan of Lonhro and Octagonal was a great horse, pity they never ran overseas.
Pity the most recent high profile Mile+ Aussie winner was Haradasun, which is a complete yak.
