think they might send him to the KG without a prep race athis year, he may not have to many miles left on the clock but i think 9/4 about him for the KG is a fair price.
Think they may want to get a race into him first - his seasonal debut is usually a bit iffy. Remember Nicholls last season saying there was still plenty to work on both before and after his first race.

yes it should be, but if kauto retains his ability then they wont see which way he went. once he turns up he will be odds on to win so 9/4 right now is nice imo.

Nah he would have to have a prep first before the KG. If they have to be a little more delicate because of his age then sending him straight to a tough race wouldn't make any sense. It's gonnae be good see Kauto take the course again. He's an entertainer.

Kauto was a 2 miler too you know, he's done alright since he stepped up in trip. Sizing might get the trip he is a galloper.
Kauto will go Down Royal -> King George -> Gold Cup -> Deserved Retirement.

Given his age and history of injuries, if connections think Sizing Europe might benefit from a step up in trip, you can see the sense in doing it this season rather than leaving it another year. Can't be certain he would get three miles in top company, of course, but nothing I have seen of him so far makes me think strongly that trying him beyond the minimum trip would be futile.

I aint arguing whether he will get the trip. The point i am making is if you have a 2 miler and want to train for the QM,then you dont run him in the King George. If they want to step up in distance and train him that way fair enough.

I think the plan is possibly to try Sizing Europe over a longer trip in a lesser race in Ireland early season and see how he goes. They would have to make a decision after that about which route he takes for the rest of the season and match up his training accordingly.
I haven't heard any mention of aiming him at the King George specifically. It may be more that connections would be pleased to aim at some of the decent prizes in Ireland over the winter in 22-24f chases.
