Alfie Sherrin

As above- Alfie Sherrin (best buy surely?) Inchidaly Rock, Qozak, Aiteenthirtythree, Herecomesthetruth, Meanus Dandy, Elusive Dream, The Begrudger.
Some exposed ones in there, think there is a staying handicap pot to be had with Meanus Dandy and Inchidaly Rock, Herecomesthethruth whilst not without ability is certainly a rascal who can chuck it in on an off day, some may even benefit with a change of scenery. IMO Alfie Sherrin is surely a horse who is capable of making a real impact in the top chases in the coming years, altho has been difficult to train by all accounts...any ideas what price he could fetch at the sales? i wonder if Nicholls will buy any back? I think thats the lot.....wonder if we will see Giordano Bruno from Hobb's stable this coming season? assmume he got injured and was given the time off |

Wont be any shortage of takers for the above even in the current financial climate. Would expect some of the well known syndicates to be casting the eye over a few.

Have they fallen out?

BBC Report mentioned today Findlay didnt think there had been much support from Nicholls. Said even if he wins he'll never have another horse in Britain.

Aiteenthirtythree would be the buy for me they think he has a very big future heard about him when he was pointing
By:
what the hell there gettinf shut of alfie sherrin?
By:
absolutely ridiculous if barber doesnt keep hold of alfie

RVW - Did you not think Aiteenthirty three looked painfully slow last season - hard to believe he won a bumper the previosu season, well talked up and flopped. Another year may see him fill out and improve but not for me. Beaten my Adams Island of Rebecca Curtis was the final straw i think

There was alot of talk about him in Ireland i thought he would have had a better season but maybe the best is to come we should hope so anyways.

omg its actually true. the best jumping prospect for many a year is going to be sold and ruined by a lesser trainer
By:
Findlay gone bust i hear?
By:
Yes, those two defeats in modest company in 3 mile novice hurdles round Newbury almost scream as much promise as the 52 length beating by Reve De Sivola the race before.
Pure hype, if trained by anyone other than Nicholls no one would bat an eyelid. Suprised to see Alfie Sherrin in there though as has been mentioned. |
By:
That was @ dananders laughable hyperbole obviously
By:
does n't the fact he's in there speak volumes? Would n't there be a private sale to one of Nicholls other owners otherwise?
By:
nicholls seems to think hed have or still would go right to the very top. been incredibly difficult to train though
By:
How about a few or a lot of us getting together to bid for one of them?
By:
Alan Potts paid 310,000 for something that had been second in a bumper on its only start at the last Doncaster sale so you'd think Alfie will make a fortune. Still loads of money around for those expensive horses

Thought Findlay bought Nevada Royale, according to the Racing Post anyway?
Findlay bought Nevada Royale for £10,000 and he will join Tim Pitt and race for a partnership including members of the Sangster family. |
By:
Nicholls must be gutted he's lost Alfie Sherrin. That horse and Aiteen33 would be the ones he'd most be looking forward to imo.

What is happening with The Begrudger ?
By:
he was sold more a measly sum, around 2,000 from memory, not so long ago.

By:
Blimey. Thought he was the new Denman.
