Did hear recently talk of poss' run in either York International or Irish Champion if that went well then Paris in Oct'.
Don't think any of theirs are showing a great deal atm,I have my doubts about him training on for what its worth.

irish champion looks the best option for me, probable soft ground and the most prestigous 1m2f race in Europe, they could claw back everything with this

Another classic hype by the Racing Press. So much hysteria few horses could meet with the expectations raised. Dare they run him again? Same as STS, imo. Apparently had nothing to prove and dashed off to stud with the racing press waving banners and new books ffs.

Does he have the speed for the Irish Champion stakes its a very competitive race. I'd prefer to see Steinbeck go for it

The Irish Champion Stakes is still 2 months away, I'd really be hoping to see him out before that.

The colt has no reputation worth protecting at this stage and what has been forgotten I think is that he ran really well in the Guineas. If he's healthy he should be out on the track. Breeders aren't idiots, they're not going to pay an inflated fee for what he's achieved to date, he has to prove it again to be worth taking a decent mare to.

An update would be nice but hopefully we'll see him in Leopardstown or somewhere for a prep soonish.

I know it may be too much to ask but regular updates would be good. The horse, I rated and still rate very highly, shouldn't just disappear off the radar. The Racing Post printed pages about him throughout the winter and spring so maybe they should at least bring us up to date with his progress or otherwise.

Rip Van you might be right,I see SNA is also in the Great Voltigeur at York on the same day as the International,if that's the case then I guess the St.Leger would be on the cards,so you poss' are right about his 'speed'.
I still think they will try to bag a big one with him,if he does run in the GV then wins the St.Leger he would only really appeal as a jumping stallion,he will need to do very well this autumn to stand any chance of standing as a flat sire,to many questions about him at the moment.
I get the impression Steinbeck needs further than a mile that's my view from what I've seen so far,I think connections share this view as well he's in the Royal Whip over 10f so we will have to wait but he does need to show us all now if he really does have any real class at all,I for one will not be holding my breath.
