Wouldn't fancy Xtension. I think they should drop him in class and try and pinch a Group 2 or 3.

Joanna has had a fair bit of racing alreay this season but seem tough and consistent.

Hearts of Fire could be an eachway play prices depending.

I know the owners of Xtension, he isn't a Ballydoyle racehorse but truly he is a magnificent fellow for them, a beautiful racehorse in every way and I hope he can go on here and win it for them. I don't think I've ever met a more genuine and devoted group of people.

I hope he does as he is my TTF list, but i'd be surprised if Xtension was good enough to win this race or a Group 1 this season.

He had the benefit of a gigh draw at HQ on Guineas day and last time out I think was perhaps more of a real measure of his ability. I think it would be better if they tried to avoid the better horses, but we'll see.

lope de vega for me of the ones mentioned having gone balls deep on siyouni at ascot i was very disappointed by his run [and possibly the ride lemairre gave him]

lope de vega seems to be getting better whilst siyouni still has to prove he has trained on

Fancy backing Hearts Of Fire ew if the dead 8 stay in. Would have beaten Dick Turpin at Ascot with a clear run IMO.

I think you have a point with Hearts of Fire,he ran so well at Ascot with a clear run I reckon he'd have beaten d i c k Turpin,a very underrated colt imo who should love the trip.My bismark is D.Turpin

The way I see it you have a superstar in Lope De Vega, he has done nothing wrong this year bar his trial but thats nothing new for horses in France infairness, you have the master trainer who aimed him for this race straight after the Jockey Club, jockey on top form and with the pacemaker making it a true mile he will be hard to beat.
At the price tho you couldnt go far wrong with Hearts of Fire I backed Canford Cliffs at Ascot but I was fairly nervous when I saw how well HOF was going no doubt in my mind he would have ran CC close if he didnt get blocked. Reportly working better now than before the St James and with the French betting public been patriotic as usual and probably oblivious of the horse he could go off juciey odds on the PMU.

So at a price Im on Hearts of Fire pmu, gl all :)

Looking at it again, Siyouni isn't out of it either- given a very strange ride by a bloke who seemed to think they were going around again...

Siyouni looks like one of those horses who always seems unlucky and I thought I had seen the light after Arsecot.  However, I just can't help backing him at his price even though it's like throwing money down a big, bottomless pit... 

While it's obvious Lope De Vega is a pretty good horse, I remain convinced he was flattered in the Jockey Club.  The other jocks rode brain-dead races and allowed Guyon to do what he wanted from his poor draw, seemingly unaware that giving a Poulains winner first run off a steady gallop might not be the brightest thing to do.

I am sticking with Dick Turpin. I know he keeps getting beaten but one day soon he might nick a Group 1.

Yeah, Segal thinks Lope was flattered by the Jockey Club too -- broke from widest berth,strong  early pace to stalk pacemaker, settled race turning in w smart turn of foot. Not that different from Poulains except he was in rear coming into straight. Where's the flattery?

And how many chances should Siyouni get?

Lope was quite a mule before the start last time,iirc, and is something to bare in mind.

Is surprisingly short AT. This smaller field might not see things fall into his lap as much imo.

Having just looked at the dire guff on offer at Ayr today it is quite pleasing a load of fixtures are being cut imo

I think Lope has shown himself to be tactically versatile, and pace makers ensures its not a ridiculous crawl.

With todger turpin in field it would never be a crawl anyway!

Smashing run from Xtension in third. Cox's form on the up but they need to drop him into Group Two company as Hannon has the best 3yo milers and he also has Paco Boy. They should go for the Summer Mile.

yeah he does get outpaced a bit and stay on. He did just then anyway.

Still think he'd be better off in slighlty lesser grade but we'll see

Matt Chapman says Lope didn;t fancy it today and was playing up before the start, but he did that before the French Derby.

Can't remember the last time a trainer had as strong a hand in milers as Hannon this season.

Sarafina is the best 3 year old by quite a way imo

Dick Turpin has shown an impressive turn of foot there. I think his earlier brilliant yet fruitless runs in the top 3yo grp1 mile races has given this horse the conditioning and battle hardening needed to be very hard to beat wherever he turns up next. He has similar 3yo profile to ravens pass, and if and when he meets canford Cliffs again it would be a toss up. I think its more than likely they will be kept apart with cc going for the sussex, moulin the qe2 and dt going marois (where he will make goldi pull out all the stops) then qe2. Who says the flat is boring

Very easily - settled the race in a matter of strides and wasn't stopping at the finish. Probably the best 3 year old performance so far this season after Workforce's Derby.

Took 3 lengths out of them at will.

Owner not certain she will be suited by 12f, he said this after the French Oaks. He indicated she would stick to 10f. Maybe she will be aimed at Juddmonte, Irish Champion ? Therefore, she is not certain to be aimed at Arc.

Also said that Rosanara would have no problem with 12f

No chance of Sarafina racing away from Paris IMO

Ignore my last post. I've just read Sarafina is going to be stepped up to 12 furlongs (owner has had a change of heart).

Rosanara goes for the Irish Oaks and must have a hell of a chance in that.

Backed Lope de Vega & Mark Cavendish today. Two disaster even money shots but still think as they say form is temporary class is permanent (reminded me not to back at those odss mind u just needed a bet)

DD, they stepped him up in trip today & a drop in class. He ran quite well imo to finish 4th but dont think 10f is what he wants. They went slow aswell but it was good to soft.

A strongly run mile in a G2 or possibly g3 and he'll be bang there.
