Incredible what modern science can do...

George Washington the second man to give birth since Arnie in that documentary 'Twins'.

And both involved in American politics, coincidence?? I think not...

gonna go off a stupid price on debut

Agree, will be a long term project I think, dam's got a stout pedigree, nothing like what the owners usually buy. Strong Suit's good enough for them to enjoy though!

Entered at Newbury and Newmarket on Friday; Newbury most likely

From the Hannon website:

"We are all very excited about what has been an eagerly-awaited debut for Julie Wood's George Washington filly, Date With Destiny, who runs in the opener at Newbury.

"We feel privileged to have such a high-profile filly in the team, and all credit to Julie for stumping up the 320,000gns for the only one of the Guineas winner's produce to have come under the hammer.

"We have taken our time with Date With Destiny and we were always going to wait for the seven furlong races. We hope that she has the ability of George, but she certainly has a better temperament as she is so placid, and she is the most gorgeous mover. She did a nice piece of work with Hughesie aboard at Herridge on Tuesday, coming up the gallop with Chica Whopa, and it will be great to get her started. She has done everything right so far."

Laugh why bother going against Hannon 2yo's ?

She was quite impressive, but slow time.

Mortitia broke great, travelled sweetly, must have hit 6/4 in-running at the 2f pole, found nothing!

Good start for the filly and I would expect her to appear in something like the Prestige Stakes next

Impressive debut.  Travelled beautifully, ran a bit green when asked to quicken (probably for the first time in her life), changed her legs and half-stumbled at one point, won very comfortably.  I'm sure there's a lot more to come.  It will be fascinating to see how she compares with Memory by the end of the season.

In the Strong Suit thread I called Mrs Wood a small owner.

I may have to revise that Laugh
