Not really a lot to go on, dam's family is quite minor and not many winners or even runners to go off. The sire's interesting, second season, family of Dansili but again no idea how classy he makes his progeny but the raw material are there. Bolger trains his 3 year old brother Agallamh (unraced) so he must see something in the dam (or have a share in her?). Interesting with the entries though, he usually likes to leave one or two of his better ones in the big races to see if they cut up at all. Will look out for him at the weekend.

best two year old he has this year....worst kept secret
will go off very short price unless it's in the railway stakes. There's wads of money waiting for him to run for the last month or so

i would have thought dunboyne express is the value here. this bolger horse will have to be some machine to win first time out, and samuel morse i dont like at all.

looks a small type and lacking in scope. sadly no new approach or teofilo. ran ok but crazy price in hindsight, have to be a group one horse to win such a race on it's debut and do you want to take 6-4 that he is that?

Wouldnt write it off just yet. Travelled like the best horse in the race until outstayed in the final furlong.May not have handled the ground either so would like to see him on better ground before I make an assessment. Obviuosly held in high regard by connections to make its debut in a group race

tbf, I expected more from the horse yesterday even IF it was debut in a group race. The reasons being that Jim Bolger sent out Lush Lashes on Debut to win the Goffs Million which is a group race in all but name. He also sent out Moineach to win a G3 on Debut, too.

He is a group 1 horse alright with bags of scope to make a very decent miler. in fact he is the one I would take out of the race as Zoffany is well exposed and Strong Suit looks a bit like damaged goods. Glor Na Mara has only had 2 runs and to finish second in a group 1 is pretty decent.
however the setback for Dunboyne Express was a shame as he absolutely slaughtered Glor Na Mara last time, and although it would certainly have been closer I think he would have won again.

Would not agree with the damaged goods comment tbh. He has only had one more run than Glora and was ridden under different tactics today.
The one horse I would put a line through though is the winner, Zoffany, as he is exposed like you say Cry.

How can you put a line through Zoffany? He won the race going away. Just because he's had more runs than the other two, doesn't mean there's less improvent in him.
What I saw today, if they meet again in the National Stakes. The 7f is going to suit Zoffany even more.

zoffany exposed. I find it hard to see how this can be said. He has hacked up in a couple of small races. Wins a group 1 when having to make up 4 lenghts in the final furlong in his first real race. bred to be better over further. bred to be a 3 year old. If anything he is the least exposed of the 3 protaginists

The way Zoffany quickened from the furlong pole really took my eye. Hughes prob expected the obrien crowd to belt on seen as Zoff had won over 7 but this wasn't the case and SS was quite keen in front. Still it would be hard to see SS reverse the form especially over further.

Rock Of Gibraltar also ran plenty of times at 2 (made it's debut in the exact same maiden race as Zoffany at Leopardtown in April) and was beaten a couple of times as well, yet he still trained on to be a half decent 3 year old. On pedigree Zoffany has plenty of scope to be a very decent miler at 3.

What really intrigues me about GNM is his breeding. I have never ever seen a horse by this sire before. Yet this horse is one of the tops about. It shouldn't be too long before more of this sire's progency hit the tracks.

Bolger supposed to be using quite a few American bloodlines these times, I think Maoineach and Vocalised were both American bred, He got in on the ground floor with Gallileo and he could be at it again here

Bolger has serious time for the sire and like i said has sent 10 of his better mares to be covered by him this yr. Marfach who was 2nd in the Goffs millions is by the sire... he also spent $200 k with Michael Ryan on a filly by the stallion

Don't think Pathfork cold have been much more impressive........ran very green early, looking around, but when he was asked to knuckle down he did so with the minimum of fuss and won as he pleased. Will unquestionably improve for the race (potentially a fair bit)and will be a serious challenger for top two year old honours. Happy with my 33s ticket for the Guineas. [:)]

Bolger is a very strange creature. Talk about running the guts out of this animal. Fair play for going in the deep end and all that but this horse now is finished imo. Another Intense focus who guts have been trained out of him

I was very surprised that he ran again so soon. He was unlucky today drawn out wide but its not what I would have wanted to do with a 2yo I owned that has reasonable classic pretentions.
I do agree about the downer it puts on the related form though.

Zoffany, Strong Suit and Pathfork should all have been lenghtened for the Guineas as a result of today as their prices are dictated by their proximity to Glor Na Mara but they weren't. The winner will not come from that trio
