Entered for a couple of maidens at the weekend and also left in the Railway on Sunday at the declaration stage.

This could be another decent 2 year old for Bolger.....

Any information on his breeding lads ?

Not really a lot to go on, dam's family is quite minor and not many winners or even runners to go off. The sire's interesting, second season, family of Dansili but again no idea how classy he makes his progeny but the raw material are there.
Bolger trains his 3 year old brother Agallamh (unraced) so he must see something in the dam (or have a share in her?).
Interesting with the entries though, he usually likes to leave one or two of his better ones in the big races to see if they cut up at all. Will look out for him at the weekend.

best two year old he has this year....worst kept secret

will go off very short price unless it's in the railway stakes. There's wads of money waiting for him to run for the last month or so

i would have thought dunboyne express is the value here. this bolger horse will have to be some machine to win first time out, and samuel morse i dont like at all.

Report mythical prince July 18, 2010 8:55 PM BST
looks a small type and lacking in scope. sadly no new approach or teofilo. ran ok but crazy price in hindsight, have to be a group one horse to win such a race on it's debut and do you want to take 6-4 that he is that?
Report BJG July 18, 2010 9:20 PM BST
Would nt rule him out after 1 run, shall c wat he does next time  Cool
Report A_T July 18, 2010 9:54 PM BST
Obviously useless
Report bosra shame July 19, 2010 11:37 AM BST
Wouldnt write it off just yet. Travelled like the best horse in the race until outstayed in the final furlong.May not have handled the ground either so would like to see him on better ground before I make an assessment. Obviuosly held in high regard by connections to make its debut in a group race
Report EastLower Gooner July 19, 2010 1:36 PM BST
any particular reason why he got one by Leroidsanimeux?
Report Graeme83 July 19, 2010 1:37 PM BST
I don't believe the hype surrounding any of Bolgers horses. Seen it all before.
Report Tiswallaceno7 July 19, 2010 1:59 PM BST
soft ground....cantered home.

Plenty to like about the debut.

Certainly will end up better than the 2 of ballydoyle's
Report A_T July 19, 2010 2:29 PM BST
Just wondered are there any examples of horses beaten 10+ lengths on debut that went on to be any good?
Report EastLower Gooner July 19, 2010 3:38 PM BST
her sire was beaten 23.5 lengths on his debut :o
Report sintonian July 19, 2010 3:38 PM BST
your fishing/being sarcastic right A_T ? Silly
Report sintonian July 19, 2010 3:40 PM BST
tbf, I expected more from the horse yesterday even IF it was debut in a group race. The reasons being that Jim Bolger sent out Lush Lashes on Debut to win the Goffs Million which is a group race in all but name. He also sent out Moineach Love to win a G3 on Debut, too.
Report neill d July 19, 2010 6:16 PM BST
Better groung should help him, they probably felt they had to get a run into him considering he has probably been ready for a while

Report ben10 August 8, 2010 5:44 PM BST
Cracking run, sure to improve again
Report cryoftruth August 8, 2010 6:14 PM BST
Not bad for a biblical place lay!

He is a group 1 horse alright with bags of scope to make a very decent miler. in fact he is the one I would take out of the race as Zoffany is well exposed and Strong Suit looks a bit like damaged goods. Glor Na Mara has only had 2 runs and to finish second in a group 1 is pretty decent.

however the setback for Dunboyne Express was a shame as he absolutely slaughtered Glor Na Mara last time, and although it would certainly have been closer I think he would have won again.
Report A_T August 8, 2010 6:19 PM BST
Everything slaughtered Glor Na Mara last time out. Renarkable improvement.
Report sintonian August 8, 2010 7:47 PM BST
Would not agree with the damaged goods comment tbh. He has only had one more run than Glora and was ridden under different tactics today.

The one horse I would put a line through though is the winner, Zoffany, as he is exposed like you say Cry.
Report Claret85 August 8, 2010 8:05 PM BST
How can you put a line through Zoffany? He won the race going away. Just because he's had more runs than the other two, doesn't mean there's less improvent in him.

What I saw today, if they meet again in the National Stakes. The 7f is going to suit Zoffany even more.
Report warsaw August 8, 2010 9:59 PM BST
zoffany exposed. I find it hard to see how this can be said. He has hacked up in a couple of small races. Wins a group 1 when having to make up 4 lenghts in the final furlong in his first real race. bred to be better over further. bred to be a 3 year old. If anything he is the least exposed of the 3 protaginists
Report sinndar001 August 8, 2010 10:11 PM BST
The way Zoffany quickened from the furlong pole really took my eye. Hughes prob expected the obrien crowd to belt on seen as Zoff had won over 7 but this wasn't the case and SS was quite keen in front. Still it would be hard to see SS reverse the form especially over further.
Report neill d August 9, 2010 3:47 PM BST
As a son of Dansili there should be an awful lot more to come from Zoffany, lots of horses have bad runs at Ascot
Report unclepuncle August 9, 2010 4:27 PM BST
Rock Of Gibraltar also ran plenty of times at 2 (made it's debut in the exact same maiden race as Zoffany at Leopardtown in AprilGrin) and was beaten a couple of times as well, yet he still trained on to be a half decent 3 year old. On pedigree Zoffany has plenty of scope to be a very decent miler at 3.

What really intrigues me about GNM is his breeding. I have never ever seen a horse by this sire before. Yet this horse is one of the tops about.
It shouldn't be too long before more of this sire's progency hit the tracks.
Report EastLower Gooner August 9, 2010 6:44 PM BST
yep I mentioned it soapp...

thats what intrigued me about this horse. was trying to work out why Bolger got him....
Report neill d August 9, 2010 7:04 PM BST
Bolger supposed to be using quite a few American bloodlines these times, I think Maoineach and Vocalised were both American bred, He got in on the ground floor with Gallileo and he could be at it again here

Did well with mr greeley through saoirse abu and finsceal beo
Report Swinia August 9, 2010 9:33 PM BST
Bolger has serious time for the sire and like i said has sent 10 of his better mares to be covered by him this yr. Marfach who was 2nd in the Goffs millions is by the sire... he also spent $200 k with Michael Ryan on a filly by the stallion

very interesting race tomorrow. Pathfork the danger.
Report EastLower Gooner August 21, 2010 4:30 PM BST
well :o

would like to see them just let him off his leash and roll from the front like his dad.
Report richardf August 22, 2010 11:50 PM BST
Don't think Pathfork cold have been much more impressive........ran very green early, looking around, but when he was asked to knuckle down he did so with the minimum of fuss and won as he pleased. Will unquestionably improve for the race (potentially a fair bit)and will be a serious challenger for top two year old honours. Happy with my 33s ticket for the Guineas. [:)]

tbf although they tried to make out there was a slight track bias against him today,i was a little  disapointed with his finishing effort
Report cryoftruth August 29, 2010 6:29 PM BST
I was very surprised that he ran again so soon. He was unlucky today drawn out wide but its not what I would have wanted to do with a 2yo I owned that has reasonable classic pretentions.

I do agree about the downer it puts on the related form though.
Report bosra shame August 29, 2010 7:20 PM BST
Zoffany, Strong Suit and Pathfork should all have been lenghtened for the Guineas as a result of today as their prices are dictated by their proximity to Glor Na Mara but they weren't. The winner will not come from that trio
