for me, 3 horses that could make or break my ascot meeting are,
canford cliffs in the st james palace (irish win was breathtaking) elzaam in the coventry (looked very professional on his debut) and manifest in the gold cup.[smiley:crazy]
What a quality weeks racing we have in store..I remember last year on the first day the bookies were running for cover..Lets hope for more of the same..Happy punting people..

Look mate, doing this long run in this type of race will make you good money in the long run. Such as backing only 'bad e/way' selections in bad e/way races will also. Which is what i tend to now only do with bookies, i do not have bookies accounts, only using cash in the local shops, (i have 5 firms close by) so no chance of getting picked on, accounts closed or restricted!

If the betfair place price for a runner is less than the place price after taking into account the bookies place terms then it is a bet. I.e there are times where a bookies price on a selection is 4/1, with place terms of 1/5th, this equates to place only odds of 4/5, if on betfair the odds on this runner in the place only market is less than 1.8, it is a bet!
The only danger to this is sometimes you will find yourself backing more than 1 runner in a race, and other times you will be backing nearly all runners in a race. Thus staking accordingly to the prices is very important. Also, in the system, the fav' and the total rags are never betted on. You might say that that is the same as just laying the fav' on betfair in the win market, but trust me, this is only about 90% true, as doing it my way, your getting far better return long term!

Can see where he is coming from in this particular race. Would take something very strange for at least two of them not to win/place. Wouldn't fancy doing it on every runner which was lower in place market on Betfair though.

by banker i mean horse you fancy most strongly charlton. can be any price. i dont mean "short priced certainty must lump on thus losing all my money in the first race"

STS that looks a very risky bet mate, have you heard of a horse called Dalghar who looks highly progressive? And how do you know what the actual to be placed prices of them all are?

Just commented on Paco Boy drift on Queen Anne thread. Not sure why anyone would want to lay it at 5.9 without knowing something, although there are a few crazy people out there

I have not got a clue what kind of form he is in but if RIP VAN WINKLE is ready to go I strongly fancy him to win that race. AOB usually fires at Ascot. Also like Makfi

Oh and how the hell you can dutch all 3 win and place STS I do not know. It would not surprise me at all to see something like Zacinto win it. I would not take his run in the Lockinge as true form as he was very unsettled b4 the race.

Would of liked to see RVW have a run before.. just going to have to take it on trust he's going to be fully primed - In which he will need to be!
Should be a cracking race anyway, can't wait.

Elzaam (AUS) Profile M A Jarvis Profile Click here to follow us on Twitter! Click here for more racing news Michael Jarvis believes Elzaam will not be out of place when he tackles Pattern company for the first time in the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot on Tuesday.
The Australian-bred colt made an impressive winning debut at York last month and has pleased his Newmarket-based trainer on the run-up to the big meeting.
"He's an interesting horse. He's Australian-bred and he's bred to Northern Hemisphere time, which is quite unusual," Jarvis told At The Races.
"He was sold at the Deauville yearling sales, he was sent to me and he's always been a nice colt.
"He worked well before York, won his maiden there very nicely and he has trained well since.
"Obviously it's the Coventry and will be the top two-year-old race next week.
"Apparently Richard Hannon's horse (Strong Suit) is very highly regarded and there are one or two other hot ones in there, but Elzaam is a very nice horse and I think he will give a good account of himself."
Hi Mythical, I don't agree with your Gold Cup selection, but the other two look good picks...I'll be laying Manifest as despite his poor form this yesr Age of Aquarius still looks the horse to be with....His run behind Harbinger at Chester decided me on this horse as a/ he was never put in the race with a true chance to win the race & b/ despite being very short on condition still ran on in a more than pleasing style. Sure you will enjoy the Royal Meeting. Are you attending any days this year?

no tirol m8 won't be there went last year on the saturday with a m8s stag do but was so packed couldnt see a thing, kind of put me off really. must remember to get the expensive seats in future!
will be following it on the beeb in between the footie though. take your point about age of aquarius but it would slightly concern me that he was expected to do the business last time and failed to deliver. in any case I think it's fair to say that with the retirement of the legendary yeats the race is wide open.
I just like this manifest as he has this huge raking stride which in some ways reminds me of yeats. but i just wonder whether the short straight at ascot will suit him if it becomes tactical. of course all races at ascot are highly competitive so you can only be so confident either way.
in the coventry i like this jarvis colt, elzaam, who apparently has been burning up the gallops (tipped up the weekenders newmarket correspondent tony elves) but of course it's a bit of a crapshoot.

Sorry not been on in a couple days, but to reply to posters on here. My system cannot be a short term thing, only long term and it does make you money! It has been proven. The main rules are:
Races not more than 12 runners but preferably 8!
Do not back favourites except in circs where you have joint or very closely matched in a market i.e 7/4 5/2 4/1 10s bar such as what the Queen Anne markets likely to be. A perfect market would be a 8 runner race, 1/5th odds, fav odds on, 2nd fav is 4/1, 3rd fav around 9/2 12s+bar. Time and time again the fav gets beat and there are enough 2nd and 3rd fav's winning in them races to make quite sizeable profits.
In the above circs, the place prices on betfair place markets are always much shorter than those offered by the traditional bookie, but always check this, because sometimes there are exceptions weirdly.
DO NOT BET TILL BETWEEN 5 MINS TO THE OFF AND 1 MIN TO THE OFF TO BE SURE OF MARKET MOVERS. Watching the market is crucial!
I am sure my good buddy who put me onto this system will be along shortly to reply lol haha.

Remember with AOA last run.....he kept on well after being headed, and the mare that won the race finished 5th in last years Melbourne Cup....still keep on your side imo. all the best for a great royal meeting

Not sure how literally to take Jacqueline Quest's guineas run.
I think Music Show will prefer it here to be honest and wish I took some of the bigger prices earlier in the week.

rip van winkle (as obrien reckons he won't be fit, must be a steering job)
twice over, jaqueline quest for the meetings greatest trainer, to go with manifest
and showcasing for abdulla, who's having a hell of a year.

I will be laying MANIFEST in the GOLD CUP on Thursday, and hope to be infront for the week by then. Good Luck with you're other picks.......Don't forget the Queens Hat market on Gold Cup day....Blue(NAP)!!!

tbh i think if manifest gets the trip theres only one winner but there has to remain a stamina doubt, i think the york race kind of turned into a sprint.
kite wood is also interesting, I know you like age of aquarius but I think the godolphin horse has a much better win ratio, also I remember his newbury win last year, he looked like a real grinder.
i'd be put off kasbah bliss and ask as horses older than six don't have a great record in this, ok yeats won it last year but he was truly exceptional.
should be a great start to the meeting tommorow, I know i've mentioned how much I like elzaam in the coventry but it was interesting how reading on another site that samuel morse scores very highly on the speed figures
could be another change of heart

lol i won't ben i'm pretty keen on this elzaam i think sometimes we can overanalyse things, just that the speed figures this guy was putting up was a bit off putting (it was on the racing forum under the coventry thread)
just like to bring some more arguments to the table!

as you can see according to his ratings ( I have no idea how he does them) samuel morse is well ahead overall but zoffany tops the sectionals. If his ratings are to be believed then samuel morse is already well above the average speed rating for a coventry winner.
tbh like you I don't particularly like this strong suit and i'd be surprised if the winner came from outside the obrien pair and elzaam, but i shall stick with the jarvis horse as it would be stupid to jump ship now.

I see he likes the Godolphin horse too, a real improver at a decent price, obviously nicely bred. Not sure how to play this race although won't be charging into anything whatever
