I know the flat season is in full flow and most of you don't care right now, but i'm just trying to get an idea of likely runners for the race

Any suggestions would be most welcome

tell u what the arkle will be some race though next year looks likely. mikael if fit will go rsa route think though. but peddles cross if go chasing will be mighty tough horse to beat

It's been called the machine long before it got to Nicholls Dan - watch his debut.  Knocked over at the first hurdle, lost 15 lengths and still won what is traditionally the hottest Maiden Hurdle in Europe (won by Exotic Dancer, Azertyuiop, Master Minded and a top hurdler over the channel in recent years).

Hyped up job got slammed by Me Voici at Chepstow Then was all out to Stars Du Granits, who isn't that good at Huntingdon next time out

Arkle is consistently won by horses with high class hurdling form, which Sang Bleu doesn't have

Agree want a 140+ rated hurdler.

very unexposed though fft. could be a major improver which ude exopect given the regard its held in. i remeber all the hype before chepstow where it was turned over bromley said best horse hes bought since big bucks . im gonna back him soon as priced come out because hell be found a couple ov novice races he can sweep up and will start 1 of favs next year with a bit of luck. still looked a bit weak to me last year .princess danjou never knew about its french form how many times it run? how much it cost any 1 know?

IF, and a big if most of the likes of:

Medermit
Walkon
Mikael D'Haguenet
Fiverforthree
Get Me Out Of Here
Dunguib
Celestial Halo

Go for the Arkle, it will be some race. I realise there are question marks over the wellbeing of a few of those, but they were/are high class hurdlers. Sang Bleu has nothing like the form of those

sang bleu was hardly given the chance to be a top hurdler really though was it

What about Time For Rupert?

I know he probably wants further but there is a precedent for long distance hurdlers going the Arkle route as novice chasers.

Guess not dan, and no doubt you'll get a big price for him.

Like I said earlier historically the classiest hurdlers win this race, and although if SB had been given the chance he may have turned out to be one, i'd rather side with the proven ones

Reaseheath, TFR could well have the RSA at his mercy imo

Where's this Dunguib chasing come from?
By:

just a suggestion of a potential chaser ben. Not saying he will, he probably won't, but if he does he'd be an obvious contender

Menorah? Restless Harry? Barizan?

Just flying kites - still find something very appealing about RH though (may just be wanting his connections to do well).

If Peddlers Cross goes chasing, I'd be very surprised if he didn't win the Arkle.

i like the hobbs horse truckers delight is it? and i dont think sang bleu will be that big oof a price with all the talk about him theres been . ide be pretty confident hes a much better horse than celestial halo well hell turn out to be.

if i had dunguib ide be going chasing . seems like he has no respect for hurdles hes a clumsy fuker though but hes never fell so fences might focus him a bit
By:

Agree with Gunny re: Peddlers Cross

part of me thinks that he'll be running in the Arkle in 2012 though
By:
dananders
When: 31 May 10 18:35
i heard peddlers they was thinking world hurlde. that would be a badmove wont stay and wouldnt beat big bucks if he did. i think hes got the speed and the class to be placed in a champion hurdle

if i owned peddlers it would be going rsa...im sure they will do whats best for the horse ,whatever they think thatl be.i wish them all goodluck ,and if half the horses mentioned on this thread so far ,turned up itd be a cracker!
almost worth getting ripped off, taken for granted again by cheltenhams rulers.
