did this in another thread
Main Aim - paper fav - does run well first time out... with positive bulletins from stable... also fav has won every two years (in the last 10 years) ... last two fav beaten so due win now. 5/2 not good value though so will take this one on... Starspangledbanner... must be respected by stable who dont have that many sprinters remember US Ranger? interesting but too much weight. Sayif - runs well first time out... vunreable to a lower weighted horse Showcasing.. 3yr old with an age allowance... not many 3 year olds have run in this so difficult to assess... but you think that more experienced horses should get the better... Prime Defender - beaten by INXILE but was a good run, ew shot MullionMileAnhour - from a stable that have produced good 2 year old sprinters... like Kingsgate Native, but now 4, but still interesting, will make Equiano look like a good thing if he takes this. But has draw 12 - will be tough from there Doncaster Rover - needed the run just behind Equiano and Mullionmile, but 3 times the price... reckon will be 10s on the day Damien - was backed 2 runs ago down to 5/1 from double figure odds - had 8 months off so needed the run. Ran an eyecatching race against Markab... 25s is a decent price... as expect more improvement to come Angelzarke - Some decent form 3rd againt Scenic Blast - but has never won at 6f... but Fahey string must be respected in a race like this. has not run at 6f for a couple of years will be interested to hear trainers comments on the day. Judd Street - too old - nice draw though Edge Closer - shown nothing last year... leap of faith required to back this InXILE - Dandy said he would be sharp for his last run and duly obliged. It was first try over 6f and won. 12/1 decent price suprised if out of the top three The three I like are Doncaster Rover 20/1 and Damien 25/1 and INXILE 12/1 good luck. |

By:
good post IDB
but inxile has run over 6 4 times prior to winning lto |
|
By:
Plat - wouldn't put anyone off Sayif, and I can see why you like him also a good fto record, am undecided about him tbh.
If this was over 5f i'd be uber keen on Anglezarke, am 50-50 on her atm. The one I am starting to like is Showcasing - was a big brute of a 2yo, Cd winner, has speed, 9/2 is a bit skinny, will see what the vibes are. |
|
By:
das - sayif strengthened up no end throughout the year last season. he ran good races in defeat in top company culminating in a class display in the diadem. massive price imo

THE going at York remained good on Monday afternoon as they inched closer to the start of the Dante meeting on Wednesday.
Clerk of the course William Derby said: "We have had one millimetre of rain in the last 24 hours and it has been acool, breezy day and dry this afternoon. "Overnight the forecast is for it to be cool and cloudy with a chance of passing showers." The first day of the meeting is expected to be dry with sunny intervals, with temperatures around the 12C mark. Derby said there were "no plans to water at this stage." The GoingStick reading was 8.0 at 3pm on Monday afternoon |

Doncaster Rover for me, Frankie to bring it home, 20/1 is huge & i expect this to be much shorter on the day, maybe 12/1 or less.

|
By:
Hate to say it but the main race looks like Main Aim spiff spaff spuff, so given the odds, no bet for me.
|
|
By:
really want to take main aim on. think SSB is the danger
|
|
By:
Interesting how SSB's wins have all come round a bend. Could smash this lot if on song but enough ?s for me to leave at the price.
|
|
By:
Bit of money for yours plat... either confident connections or perhaps you've been wisepriced.

Or it could just be a case of 'platwise' these days!!

Duke of York -
Still chopping and changing here! Like Showcasing except for the draw, 11 is not good here! Not sure about a 3yo in this race either? Only 4 have tried in the past decade, one was 3rd, one mid div(the only one that was fancied) and the other pair were last and 2nd last. But he was a great big 2yo. If the gnd is not too quick Inxile surely is a great ew/place bet. Prime Defender does looks big compared to Inxile though, but he looks fairly exposed, despite being in good form. Can't have Judd St, Edge Close, Damien or Donc Rover. Like Angelzarke, but doubts over the trip and quality persist. Main Aim is too short and I cannot be backing him. Starspangledbanner is the joker in the pack, being winning top Aussie sprints, but never run in a straight line before. Will watch the marker vibes, looks saver material. Sayif has been tipped by the man that matters on here, visually impressive lto, but that was an end of season sprint(collateral form is poor). He does look over priced at 12s thought! Clear as mud. |

By:
Mullionmileanhour 15/2. Ran a cracker at Royal Ascot as a 2yo and encouraging comeback run followed by unlucky 2nd in Abernant. Equiano and Golden Stream have confirmed that form. May need to improve on that but lightly raced so no surprise if he does, trainer knows what he's doing.
SSB, Sayif giving weight away, Main Aim is too short considering he's disappointed the last few runs, Showcasing has it to prove. Mullion looks the solid choice to me. Angelzarke @20s a decent e/w price. |

Down, Sampower Star won it as a 3yo 11 years ago
