Evening gents

Wanting to put a playhouse in our garden. There is an area of those 40cm by 40cm paving slabs and I wanted to put a few more in. Started digging into the turf where the extra slabs are needed and 2" or so below the surface I have hit a black cable about the size of a finger. WTF is this??

PLEASE HELP

C2 - seems very shallow to be an electricity or tv/telephone cable, BUT don't take a chance on it!! What diameter is the cable?
Where there any garden items that had power to them? A Pond or outside lighting?
Safest bet is if you know a local sparks, and get him to tell you what it is, he can also tell you if its dead or not.
GL.

Thanks Das

It's about the diameter of a finger. There is nothing in the garden at all and it is running across the garden from one side neighbour to the other (i.e. not from the house to the back of the garden). My concern is if I concrete over it and then something goes wrong with what it has to do with, then I have to smash all the concrete away again. Do elec/tv/phone cables run in the garden normally??

If you are able to bury it, ie. its not in your way, then just get a 50mm dia duct(pipe) split it down the middle and feed the cable inside, then the cable is protected, and can be accessed from either neighbouring wall/fence.

Das!!!

just went and pulled it and one end came right out!!!

It's not cable, I think it is just some kind of water pipe.

Anyway the side that came out is cut so I am pretty sure it is not being used.

Phew!

THANKS DAS

Just cut it and it is definitely empty inside, so not sure what it is for.

All good.

Thanks again Das.
