Perhaps an indication they believe she is an Oaks filly pure and simple.

Trainer seems keen to go down the Musidora route before the Oaks and I view this positively, means they are not getting distracted from her main prize.
Report mike hunt April 18, 2010 11:35 AM BST
obviously trainer knows more - but she just doesn't strike me as an Oaks type
Report push April 18, 2010 11:36 AM BST
Trainer must think she does not have the speed for the Guineas
Report jamesp April 18, 2010 12:06 PM BST
There still hasn't been any news on where Rumoush runs next. Or has there? My hunch is that they will decide to step her up in trip (possibly in the Musidora). Habaayib ran a very promising trial at Newbury yesterday and I suspect that they will decide to run Habaayib alongside Tabassum in the Guineas.
Report Le Sorcier April 18, 2010 12:08 PM BST
Tregoning said Musidora I believe.

jamesp

There wa a quote in the RP after the race where M Tregoning indicated he wanted to aim her at the Musidora but would need to speak to the owner first.
Report jamesp April 18, 2010 12:11 PM BST
Straight after the Feilden Tregoning said he liked York, but no decision had been taken at that stage. We're still waiting for a decision on whether she runs in the Guineas or goes for a more traditional Oaks trial.

given how poor the 1000G looks - they will surely consider it...?lookedto have loads of toe last day
Report elisjohn April 18, 2010 12:14 PM BST
french oaks imo, agree that the 2nd ran a good race in f darling yesterday, running on still massive price on here for 1000, rather take 80s for her than 5 on s duty
Report Le Sorcier April 18, 2010 12:15 PM BST
Won't run in Guineas tho will she?
Report PFtrader April 19, 2010 5:16 PM BST
According to the RP Rumoush goes for the 1,000 Guineas.

"Hamdan Al Maktoum's filly, trained by Marcus Tregoning, won last week's 1m1f Listed event by two
and a half lengths and connections are keen to let her take her chance in the Guineas despite the drop back in trip.

The owner's racing manager, Angus Gold, said on Monday: "Sheikh Hamdan would like Rumoush to have a crack at the Guineas and, all being well, that appears to be the plan.

"There's a slight doubt about her staying the full Oaks distance and, after her performance at Newmarket last week, she deserves to take her chance."

great news.... took some 25/1 after she won last day with Laddies to a minimum stakes just in case....

willl top up now ew 16/1

Disappointing news (from the purely financial point of view, as I will now have to place some sizeable insurance bets on her). It's hard to see her being good enough to win the Guineas on what we've seen so far, but you never know...
Report the bairn April 19, 2010 11:53 PM BST
exactly the same view as you james.
Report fuzzyone April 20, 2010 9:52 AM BST
Shortening very quickly and wouldnt be a massive surprise if she was picked by R.Hills to ride. No stamina doubts and a solid e.w proposition.
Report Cream Of The Crop April 20, 2010 9:56 AM BST
But James, surely she has an absolute ton of improvement yet to come? Her half sister won the race after achieving less than she has done after two career outings, and she showed both speed and a strong finishing effort to win last time, though I grant you the form is held down by the second (albeit the he is surely better than he has shown so far). I think she is a cracking e/w bet as stamina is assured, she has course experience, is beautifully bred and improvement is almost guaranteed.
Report ewok2006 April 20, 2010 10:01 AM BST
Richard will ride this.

A slight Market Mover today.
Report jamesp April 20, 2010 10:25 AM BST
COTC, fair points, but will she improve significantly for the drop in trip? It will be interesting to see whether Richard Hills deserts Tabassum in favour of this filly.
Report ewok2006 April 20, 2010 10:29 AM BST
The drop in trip?
The Guineas will be a true run race, Fielden wasn't. It won't make as much difference as you are making out imo.
Report Cream Of The Crop April 20, 2010 10:31 AM BST
James, I believe a truly run race will see her involved at the finish, so she should be fine back over the mile trip. The danger, obviously, is if they go no pace then sprint, which will suit the likes of Special Duty etc.
Report jamesp April 20, 2010 10:41 AM BST
There are still plenty of likely runners that I prefer to Rumoush. She'll do well to get a place, in my opinion.

Tabassum has been all but ruled out of the StanJames.com 1,000 Guineas after failing to shine in her work at Newmarket yesterday. Richard Hills thus rides Rumoush on Sunday week, while Kieren Fallon will partner Seta ahead of Music Show, the second favourite.

This horse is incredibly short for the guineas. Her mother was also beaten in the guineas, i wonder whether the same fate awaits this filly. She certainly didn't look quick to my eyes anyway and must want a lot further and 8-1 is some kind of joke i think. She will be a long way behind before her stamina kicks in surely.
Report mythical prince April 22, 2010 2:02 PM BST
seta wins the guineas.
