Probably just taking into consideration the ground and first time out factor.
Report push April 15, 2010 6:30 PM BST
They also go the biggest about him for the Triple Crown.
Report Zaynar April 15, 2010 7:00 PM BST
That's cos he aint gonna win the guineas, derby or leger.
Report essexguy April 15, 2010 7:08 PM BST
zaynar, what a silly thing to say, ow do you KNOW sna WONT WIN ANY OF THE CLASSICS, hAS THE HORSE BEEN PUT DOWN? BECAUSE THAT IS THE ONLY WAY YOU CAN KNOW.
YOU SILLY PERSON.
Report Zaynar April 15, 2010 7:37 PM BST
Just like you know he will win them cos he is still alive?
Report bobby.s April 15, 2010 7:40 PM BST
PP always seem to be biggest with O'Briens horses
Report mythical prince April 15, 2010 7:43 PM BST
you cant say he def wont win them or def will win them
Report 4thjulykid April 15, 2010 7:51 PM BST
PP like to get all of O'Briens horses' in the books , they get knowledge by finding out who is betting it , plus free advertising . Ballydoyle are already on at prices I suspect , why do they need to play again . And more importanly how much can anybody bet ?

Should be 1000 to turn up for the Ledger imo...
Report ben10 April 15, 2010 7:56 PM BST
What about the Leger?

He'll run in it if he wins the other two, guaranteed.
Report push April 15, 2010 7:57 PM BST
That depends on who you talk to . Les
Report punkha1 April 15, 2010 7:58 PM BST
Ben why will he when STS didnt?
Report ben10 April 15, 2010 8:00 PM BST
Coolmore won't miss a hype opportunity. The owners wanted Sea The Stars to be targeted for the Arc because they won it with his mum and Oxx wanted to run in Ireland once that season imo.
Report layingisthewayforward April 15, 2010 8:00 PM BST
Sorry Ben was using forum speak .

You honestly think he would run in it if he won the other 2 ? can't see it myself .
Report layingisthewayforward April 15, 2010 8:01 PM BST
Still can't see it mate . The Leger is on a non event now . To think he would go for that instead of say the Arc .. Won't happen imo .
Report ben10 April 15, 2010 8:02 PM BST
Sorry Laying did think for a second you'd be someone who knew better, consider me caught :p
Report punkha1 April 15, 2010 8:02 PM BST
No chance of this horse running in the Leger instead of the Irish Champion Stakes, simply wouldn't happen.
Report ben10 April 15, 2010 8:03 PM BST
Who was the last winner of the Triple Crown? And which operation did it? It's the perfect marketing ploy to put him up there with the very best and command a 6 figure sum at stud.
Report ben10 April 15, 2010 8:06 PM BST
Why is he so certain to show up for the Irish Champion stakes anyway, what does that prove? He'll already have won over a mile.
Report punkha1 April 15, 2010 8:07 PM BST
Doesn't matter. The race means nothing and the Irish Champion Stakes is one of Irish racing biggest days.
It wouldn't even be a choice for them.
Report ben10 April 15, 2010 8:09 PM BST
Couldn't disagree more tbh, I expect him to be given a mid season break and then the Leger and Arc will be on the agenda if he did win the fist two Classics, all big ifs though in my opinion.
Report punkha1 April 15, 2010 8:16 PM BST
You're underestimating how important the race is to Irish trainers,no chance of it been missed for a plodders race triple crown or not.
However should it look like theres a decision to be made over which race to go for feel free to ttt this thread and i'll lay you a bet on it.
Report essexguy April 15, 2010 8:20 PM BST
Zaynar, I would or could never be certain of a result in a horse race and neither can you. Even if you were in the know, and you knew your horse wasnt fit and therefore thought he couldnt win, you could never be Certain of that because you never know all the factors involved as they change constantly.
Also, i wouldnt be so stupid to say that a horse will win for certain.NO SUCH THING AA A CERTAINTY IN HORSE RACING.
Report ben10 April 15, 2010 8:20 PM BST
If SNA wins the same races as Sea The Stars where is the unique selling point? The Triple Crown is something to shout about (first since Nijinsky etc.) and will show breeders he possesses the remarkable blend of speed and stamina. Given the chance they will definitely take it, they have at least 5 horses in training other than him who could be capable of winning the Champion Stakes.

punkha1,I think you sir are underestimating the value of the St.Leger if SNA wins the first two legs of the TC,ben10 is completely right that is about what the plan is, but things can and do change,I will assume you don't know SNA connections because if you do you will then fully understand just how important that 'plodders' race will become to them in the event of the 3rd leg needed for the TC,
Report barjonn April 17, 2010 8:40 AM BST
gone the 5/2 that is

If SNA goes for the leger under the circumstances, i will fly out of the window with those pigs.
Report downallstar April 17, 2010 10:41 AM BST
If he wins the 2000G, I think they will target the Leger, esp if SNA wins the Derby aswell, they will want to do want STS didn't do!!!!!

Dont' give up your day job G83,What I will take from that statement is you DO NOT know connections, let me assure you that will be the case if SNA wins the first two legs.

obviously not an expert but would the yanks want to send their mares to a horse that stays 14f ? ergo wouldn't its stud value go down ?
Report Prima Donna April 18, 2010 6:36 AM BST
^^^^Your right your no expert! If he wins the TC he will be 65/75k,and yes the 'Yanks' would send some if they wanted to.
Report Prima Donna April 18, 2010 8:54 AM BST
Just to underline that point about the 'Yank's' sending mares to SNA if he stayed the St.Leger trip, yes because he was CH 2'yold and one other point I would send him one ..........I am a 'Yank'!
Report push April 18, 2010 8:57 AM BST
Really PD, i always thought you were Irish. What do you fancy for the Kentucky Derby ?
Report Prima Donna April 18, 2010 9:08 AM BST
No Push I am NOT Irish, yes we have a stud here we have a house in NMKT but Irish I am not!
Report Prima Donna April 18, 2010 9:37 AM BST
Lookin At Lucky would be my choice, but really I don't concentrate on US racing much,I have been over here so long now that imo this is the best racing.I will be in the states for the NMKT guineas I would much rather be in England then,I have business to do I may not see the Derby,Slick will be in NMKT though.Do you bet on it if so who do you like?
Report push April 18, 2010 9:42 AM BST
I will be interested to see who Giantscauseways son can win the Kentucky Derby ,Eskendereya.
