AGE OF AQUARIUS is well, he had a little hold up with a bruised foot but everything going well he might start back in the Boodles Ormonde Stakes at Chester.

ALFRED NOBEL will probably have his next run in the Weatherbys Greenlands stakes at the Curragh.

BEETHOVEN is working well, he will probably start in the stanjames.com 2000 guineas in Newmarket. He also holds an entry in the Kentucky Derby but is unlikely to travel there.

CAPE BLANCO is in good form, he is possible to start back in the totesport.com Dante Stakes at York.

FAME AND GLORY came out of his race well, he might go to the High Chaparral Mooresbridge Stakes at the Curragh next as the Prix Ganay might just come a little bit too soon for him.

FENCING MASTER is working nicely,we are looking at the stanjames.com 2000 guineas in Newmarket. for him.

JAN VERMEER is well, he also had a little hold up but is back in work again now, he is a possible runner in either the French guineas or the Abu Dhabi Irish 2000 guineas.

MIKHAIL GLINKA is in good form, he will probably have his first run in the P W McGrath Memorial Ballysax at Leopardstown.

RIP VAN WINKLE is well, he will either start in the Juddmonte Lockinge at Newbury or could go straight to the Prince of Wales Stakes or the Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot.

STARSPANGLEDBANNER did his first canter on the grass this morning and we were very happy with him. We are hoping to have him ready for a run in the Duke of York Blue Square Stakes at York.

ST NICHOLAS ABBEY is in good form, at the moment we are looking at the stanjames.com 2000 guineas.

STEINBECK is working really well, he will probably start off in the Abu Dhabi 2000 guineas at the Curragh.

VISCOUNT NELSON is also very well, he will possibly run next in the stanjames.com 2000 guineas in Newmarket.

CABARET is back cantering after a little break, she might start back in the Tattersalls Musidora stakes in York.

DEVOTED TO YOU is in good form and she will possibly run in the stanjames.com 1000 guineas in Newmarket.

FAMOUS is also well, she got a little bit tired at Leopardstown the last day but she could also run in the stanjames.com 1000 guineas at Newmarket.

LILLIE LANGTRY is well again after her injury in Santa Anita last year, she will hopefully be ready for the Etihad Airways 1000 guineas at the Curragh.

YOU'LL BE MINE is in good from, she is also possible to go to the stanjames.com 1000 guineas in Newmarket.

SOME TWO YEAR OLDS TO NOTE;

We have a lovely colt called RULING (Footstepsinthesand ex Chataranga), he is doing everything nicely and should be an early type

We also really like a filly called QUEEN OF SPAIN (Holy Roman Emperor ex Starlight Dreams) she is a 3 parts sister to Mastercraftsman and is also doing everything very easily.

We have some nice horses for the second half of the season including AMEN (Galileo colt ex Kitza), FREEDOM (Hurricane Run ex Cute Cait) and a lovely Montjeu colt called PAWNEE out of Red Azalea.

If Cape Blanco is starting off in the Dante they must see him as a Derby horse ( but which Derby ? )
Report Prima Donna April 13, 2010 5:59 PM BST
The Epsom Derby.
Report push April 13, 2010 6:00 PM BST
Should we back him ( PD ) ?
Report Far From Trouble April 13, 2010 6:00 PM BST
Did APOB mention stanjames.com in all of his quotes? :p
Report Graeme83 April 13, 2010 6:13 PM BST
O' Brien sent 6 runners to last years derby, so i'd imagine the Derby is a logical target for Cape Blanco amongst others.
Report Prima Donna April 13, 2010 6:14 PM BST
You could Push, they do think he has a chance,SNA will be given every chance in the GNS if he wins that then odds on for Epsom,But if he dosen't win the GNS then Epsom will be up for anyone as then the TC chance is over thats why Cape Blanco is going down route of the Dante,a bit like running both Hawk Wing and High Chapperal,BUT IF SNA does win the GNS and then looks like winning the Derby dont be surprised to see Cape Blanco looking like he's trying to win but he wont really as they will be under instructions to let SNA win, then they will say CB did not stay the trip and go for the races like the Eclipse.
Report amaru April 13, 2010 6:16 PM BST
That depends on St Nicholas Abbey Graeme, if he's as good as they think then they'll only run him and a couple of pacemakers imv. He's only been mob handed in the years where he hasnt had an obvious Derby horse, this year he most definitely has.
Report push April 13, 2010 6:16 PM BST
Fencing Master might be the one for the Eclipse .)

Amaru - what would they do if they didn't know if SNA was better than Jan Vermeer. I'm not one of the most knowledgeable posters, and whilst i realise that SNA is apparently the main horse, i think Jan Vermeer could be as good as anything they have.
Report ben10 April 13, 2010 6:21 PM BST
SNA won't have pacemakers in the Derby, very sure of that.
Report Prima Donna April 13, 2010 6:26 PM BST
I think Ben10 is right but he will have them at NMKT.
Report amaru April 13, 2010 6:28 PM BST
Thats fair enough Graeme and I aint gonna knock you for thinking that Jan Vermeer could be the better as he looks very promising.

Prima Donna made a good point about St Nicholas Abbey and the Guineas. Should he win then they aint gonna risk one of their own beating him in the Derby and foil a Triple Crown bid. That said, I dont see him having many other runners in the Derby other than St Nicholas Abbey should he lose at Newmarket as he's going to be much better suited to the mile and a half of the Derby anyway and a defeat in the Guineas doesnt mean he wont win the Derby.

Why dont you think there'll be pacemakers Ben?
Report ben10 April 13, 2010 6:40 PM BST
He has such a good turn of foot and we've seen him quicken to terrific effect off a slow pace as a two year old. If they go steady and he's good enough then he'll easily out sprint them in the race to the line.
Report Graeme83 April 13, 2010 6:43 PM BST
Maybe Jan Vermeer will just stick to french classics just now. I guess it's just a waiting game.
Report geoff m April 13, 2010 6:45 PM BST
Coolmore could well run "pacemakers" to slow it down in front?
Ran a hatfull last year but didnt set a searching gallop because of concern of Rip getting the trip.
Report amaru April 13, 2010 7:08 PM BST
Fair enough Ben, I suppose it may depend on the opposition to a certain extent as if theres a suspect stayer amongst the dangers then they may look to stretch the said horses stamina but I can see your angle.

I think wait and see is the only thing you can do Graeme.
Report push April 13, 2010 7:47 PM BST
You mean like they tried to test STS stamina in the Derby ? FFS.
Report Richie-O April 13, 2010 7:51 PM BST
Anyone know what's happened to Joshua Tree?
Report The Big O April 14, 2010 1:31 AM BST
Mr O'Brien has a serious sprinter on his hands in Starspangledbanner.

Has form slightly better than his old man (Choisir) did when he went across and should only improve leaving Corstens for O'Brien.

Assume he will go to the Golden Jubilee and should be winning it.
Report the lay preacher April 14, 2010 2:52 AM BST
geoffm is spot on they will run pacemakers but only to steady the pace

as they tried to do for rip van winkle .

they know if its a sprint finish there is only one winner s.n.a.
