Used to work out the BAGS betting tissue for RP when it was always a 12 race programme. Rare but sometimes yu could get a bet on 12 unplaced dogs, out of the first 12. Only managed to strike the bet 3 times but always won!

still at it ......

will it never end ?

…….No good on trixies …After-timing but at least got the Naas placepot up. Only paid a miserly £14.60, though

at least he admits it .....

The advantages of the Union Jack bet  see the Greyhound Forum …..
woodmanchester  28 Jan 18 21:45 It's possible to have the first 5 losers and still notch up a winning treble
Even if that fails, a later middle selection win counts as a single and can be lion's share returns. Got 12/1, 6/1, evs treble up today. Paid 181/1, only 8 bets

I just laid Douvan as I did at Cheltenham. How can a horse that has not won for 2 years be odds on? He did run much better than I expected today.

ran much better than he expected at odds on...normal puking muck

Haven't looked on here lately so delighted that I am still followed and quoted.

reminds me of a race years ago.

a friend phoned me about 40 mins before a race, with "info from someone he knew, who was chatting to some irish guy" and he said this horse in a maiden hurdle in Ieland wont get beat.

i went online it was 16/1 in from 20's. i had a bit ew on it. Its form was 000000, anyway it came into about 6/1.

Went 50L clear at start and nothing got close, won by a hurdle

you just can't beat the good old days... this after today's gamble in ireland

How on earth could that shower ever have been favourites. I laid them and Germany to reach the final before it all started, just need Brazil to go out now to clean up. What price England to reach the final now?

Bookies need to get real over non-runner rules
By Paul Brown 1:54PM 13 AUG 2018

With all that in my head, I wouldn’t usually dream of playing well in advance of a big event like the English or Irish Derbys, and indeed left it until a month or so to go before I backed Dorotas Wildcat to take the glory at Towcester this year. I think I may have missed some 40-1 somewhere as result, or perhaps even bigger, but 33-1 was reasonable in my eyes so close to the event.

Saddo….

Good luck...I went last in Golden Horn's year...which I backed..along with Goldream in the abbaye and the winner of the prix l'Opera..Limato just getting beat in the Foret (Moore sleeping in the stalls) cost me a monster four timer unfortunately..but still a great day

No prizes for guessing who posted this little gem but if you still need a clue:  his username rhymes with 'pageform'.

********   28 Oct 18 11:30

And if you don't happen to see the thread in time to post a selection and are stupid enough to say "get in " after you have backed the winner you get slagged off for aftertiming which happens to me a lot.

There is still some real talent out there, this cluster f**k from shlotter on the Beveur Dair thread;

I was there when he won his last CH. I walked out of club, not caring about the rest of the festival straight after because I had to go and collect from everywhere. I caught him when he won his first at 140 and 70, when he won at Kempton, Sandown  I had an almighty whack on him at money on. He hasn't won me as much money in his life as Istabraq, but he has a very special place in my heart.

Majestic.

Wow - a couple of weeks ago I thought my two antepost bets for this, Angels Breath and Klassical Dream, were going to the Ballymore and I might as well screw up my slips. Now there's every chance they go off first and second favourites. Mental this game...

If you can supplement for small money, why would you enter as a yearling or even as a 2yo? I agree that winners of designated trials should get in though for a reasonable fee like £1000. Being selfish I hope Telecaster doesn't run although I have backed him the last twice. I want Bangkok to win and every danger that drops out is a bonus.

THANKFULLY, we don't get alot of this anymore.....

Maybe a boodles horse Foyleswar?

I’ve had a good day with these juveniles, all be it with small stakes.

Had the kempton juvenile 6/4 antepost earlier this week and the fairyhouse juvenile winner at 16/1.

I was happy with Hook ups run in 3rd considering I was expecting it to hate this ground and will improve massively for better ground on pedigree. I’ve not heard what Mullins said afterwards??? Is it going for the triumph?

Older yes but Enable's experience and versatility will crush Love's ambition.
All about opinions as we know and I am firmly with Enable, despite backing Love in all 3 of her races this year.
Enable owes me nothing either as I have backed her in all her races apart from when I backed Ghaiyyath in the Eclipse.
Should be a great race between them and not to forget something else might stuff both of them lol

Enable 15 wins + Love 3 wins + Ghaiyyath win = 19 Aftertimes... Is this the new world record?

Get in. A great day for Andrew Balding followers. Backed ante post and again this morning when he was back out to 9.2 on here. well done Frankie.

No mention on the antepost thread, prior to the race!!!

If I read every thread on here, I would never have time to have a bet. I mention my faith in Andrew Balding and Juddmonte regularly so why would I have backed anything else but Chaldean? My only doubt was Frankie after Newbury. As usual in my experience, the anti post price was no better than the morning price although he did shorten dramatically in the minutes before the race.

Going into it he had worked well with Birr Castle going well clear so the drift and performance are perplexing.

I think if Fallen Angel could recapture the form she showed when winning the Moyglare and Irish Guineas she'd take this comfortably. I couldn't back her though as she's been a long way from that level since. From the market it looks like January has been going well coming into this and her very best form gives her a good winning chance. However, I thought she didn't quite run to her best last time as she ought to have beaten Cinderella's Dream, so I can happily let her win unbacked at this price.

I pretty much agree with everything Tom Segal has said regarding Spiritual. Couldn't have fancied her at all before the Epsom win, but a repeat of that clock performance would give her an excellent chance today. From Gosden's comments she's a quirky filly who needs things to fall her way, and her previous form appears to tally with the comments. It's also discouraging to see a lack of stable confidence reflected in the market. So while things might not fall her way today, and I wouldn't be surprised if she won or finished nowhere, I have to take a punt at these odds.

Yes, Spiritual didn't have it her own way in front and they went a decent pace. Although to be honest, whatever the circumstances, I wouldn't bank on her ever running as well as last time again. In the end I did have a small place only bet on Fallen Angel, but it barely covered my winning stake and wasn't enough to win on the race. Obviously I should've just backed Fallen Angel e.w. instead, but in truth I just wouldn't have had the confidence for that.

The RP seem to have taken a positive view of the race, but looking at the beaten distances, winning time, and pace they went I don't believe either of the front two ran right up to their very best, but they were still better than the rest on the day. FA clearly ran her best race of the season and it will be interesting to see if she can continue to return to top form. I still don't think I'd be confident enough to back her to win another big one, however, as I don't see this as strong Gp1 form, even for a fillies only race.

NO MENTION of the place bet.

The year Giggs won the PFA award it was a market I had some interest in.  IIRC I had some money on Vidic.  I knew it was a market closer to the time you had to be very careful.  Anyway, I had a sixth sense that someone knew Giggs had won and was being really cute, so I tested it and took everything that was available on Giggs from maybe 4.5 to 5 or 5 to 5.5. It wasn't a lot, mebbe £50-£75 in stakes.  Was along those lines.  Within 30 minutes or similar he was odds on.  My take was as soon as that someone thought he wasn't the only one that knew, he took the lot.

Villa 2-1

Which is of no interest to this thread

I dunno, Tobe. It looks like you posted after the score had reached 2-1, so maybe it's the right thread.

Delbert remains the undisputed King of After Timers and doesn't even bet

sageform is still the King!  Long live the King!

And if you don't happen to see the thread in time to post a selection and are stupid enough to say "get in " after you have backed the winner you get slagged off for aftertiming which happens to me a lot.

top2 rated, I don't think that I can compete with the army of moaners on Horse Racing forum who aftertime when ever their choice gets beaten. Usually the jockey at fault or connections "not trying". I prefer to celebrate winners.

Something of a classic from this Spurs fan. Had a big bet laying City, which he was "happy to lose". But thankfully he still won over the weekend....
