I had a brief glimpse at the BBC coverage and was horrified at some of the presenters & guests. I quickly switched back to Sky. I watched up until the first score last night, recorded the rest and watched it back this morning. That was the most unbelievable comeback I have ever witnessed. So totally one sided and then switching totally around. I had a chunk on the Patriots, had totally written it off & watched in complete disbelief as they pulled it out of the fire.
I think it's a good sport to watch. Up until the last few games they have the red zone program on, which shows all the scoring chances & action continually switching from game to game at the same time and on a separate channel to the live game. The QB's are extraordinary and mostly throw the ball with unbelievable accuracy and under pressure. The running backs are exceptional athletes, the wide receivers often make incredible catches.
The game has a great statistical base, with dozens of website providing masses of stats. This increases the attractiveness of the sport for many as a betting sport. The betting value available on the handicaps is as good as in any sport. They offer 10/11 each of two with a push for a draw, where you get your money back on a push. e.g You bet a team with a -3 handicap, they win by 3 and you get your stake returned.

Backing 2-4 horses on the nose in handicaps at cheltenham is like throwing money at bookies and about as mug like as it gets. However, doubles and trebles aimed to place or lump doubles on strong favourites are where I have made the most money at cheltenham. I remember last year where a Vautour / Thistlecrack double was near on 5/1. Loaded and lumped and rolled around in gravy!!!

I think someone went on social media or emailed ATR Cheltenham preview night about the well-being of Douvan but Gary O'Brien (ATR Irish expert) and Jamie Lynch both had no knowledge of that. I also believe someone from Closutton denied the rumour too on Chapman's phone-in programme the previous evening.

The Grand National aftertiming is sickening.Surely a yellow and red card system needs introduced. One more slip of your filthy aftertiming tongue then goodbye you filth.
one of the worst aftertimers I've encountered on here is jedi sophie, who tends to pop up on every golf tournament thread around about halfway through, to tell everyone how he's annoyed that the leader isn't further clear as he's on them at big prices. Such post is invariably accompanied by a sad face
I pulled him up on it as noticed he was doing it on every tournament. Given that golf has 140 odd players in most tournaments, it seemed rather far stretched to think that he was on the leader everytime. it's possible he was backing them but then conveniently failed to mention how he probably backed half the field as well.
quite a subtle aftertimer this guy is. I notice as well that ever since I've exposed his chronic aftertiming that he's held a grudge against me. Actually had to block him as the abuse got too much- clearly didn't like having his little ruse exposed.

And the way it drifted in the market suggests it either wasn't fully wound up yesterday, or conditions weren't right for it. It was trading at 2.6/2.64 on here at lunchtime, when I had £100 on it in a Lads shop at 13/8, yet the SP was 9/4 (Betfair SP 4.11).
Not sure whether to be delighted that Lads shops had Lingfield as a BOG meeting yesterday, or annoyed at the lousy industry SP compared with the Betfair one.

woodmanchester now aftertiming on a historical level!
Obviously going back a long way but if memory serves, Desert Orchid had back-pedalled in the Champion Hurdle, tailed off, so logic said he had no hope of winning the King George. He must have been about 33/1 first time and I was in the pub getting sloshed and for the hell of it, had a small bet on him, as the horse that couldn't win (well, I was very young). I saw him jump a fence in the home straight and shouted to the packed crowd: " I'll show my *rse if that wins." Thought there was a circuit to go. Didn't realise it was the last fence and Orchid was about to trot up. Needless to say, I reneged on showing my *rse!

RP JOURNO …. Bookies need to get real over non-runner rules By Paul Brown 1:54PM 13 AUG 2018
With all that in my head, I wouldn’t usually dream of playing well in advance of a big event like the English or Irish Derbys, and indeed left it until a month or so to go before I backed Dorotas Wildcat to take the glory at Towcester this year. I think I may have missed some 40-1 somewhere as result, or perhaps even bigger, but 33-1 was reasonable in my eyes so close to the event.
Saddo….

No prizes for guessing who posted this little gem but if you still need a clue: his username rhymes with 'pageform'.

And if you don't happen to see the thread in time to post a selection and are stupid enough to say "get in " after you have backed the winner you get slagged off for aftertiming which happens to me a lot.

There is still some real talent out there, this cluster f**k from shlotter on the Beveur Dair thread;
I was there when he won his last CH. I walked out of club, not caring about the rest of the festival straight after because I had to go and collect from everywhere. I caught him when he won his first at 140 and 70, when he won at Kempton, Sandown I had an almighty whack on him at money on. He hasn't won me as much money in his life as Istabraq, but he has a very special place in my heart.
Majestic.

marychain1 • March 10, 2019 5:57 PM GMT Wow - a couple of weeks ago I thought my two antepost bets for this, Angels Breath and Klassical Dream, were going to the Ballymore and I might as well screw up my slips. Now there's every chance they go off first and second favourites. Mental this game...

I agree that winners of designated trials should get in though for a reasonable fee like £1000. Being selfish I hope Telecaster doesn't run although I have backed him the last twice. I want Bangkok to win and every danger that drops out is a bonus.

This bloke called StopwatchRacing went on Twitter about a blog he wrote. The poor bloke has completely fouled up and is fessing his addiction to gambling etc. etc.
This is one of the replies to his tweet.
mark @mark34991780 · Jan 4 Replying to @StopwatchRacing Can’t help but to think the bookmakers should still be more involved in the way people bet, When people start winning they soon cotton on, i done a £10 lucky 15 last year at Cheltenham got £5000 next day I was banned for unusual activity. All the best for future will ??

I’ve had a good day with these juveniles, all be it with small stakes.
Had the kempton juvenile 6/4 antepost earlier this week and the fairyhouse juvenile winner at 16/1.
I was happy with Hook ups run in 3rd considering I was expecting it to hate this ground and will improve massively for better ground on pedigree. I’ve not heard what Mullins said afterwards??? Is it going for the triumph?
everyone is happy. filth

4builder4 • September 26, 2020 8:20 PM BST Older yes but Enable's experience and versatility will crush Love's ambition. All about opinions as we know and I am firmly with Enable, despite backing Love in all 3 of her races this year. Enable owes me nothing either as I have backed her in all her races apart from when I backed Ghaiyyath in the Eclipse. Should be a great race between them and not to forget something else might stuff both of them lol
Enable 15 wins + Love 3 wins + Ghaiyyath win = 19 Aftertimes... Is this the new world record?

A lot of great horses and I'll never forget this day....I was sitting in my home with 210 quid in my pocket. I had to pay my mortgage on the Monday as I was four months behind and nearing 'foreclosure' as the Yanks would say.
I shouldn't have but I did and put 200 on this beast...

Just spotted a phenomenon known as the 'reverse aftertime'. Common in football matches, in this scenario the culprit doesn't advertise their bet pre-match but berates the eventual losing team throughout, before signing off with a cheery "at least I didn't back them".
