Probable stacks of inacurancies as was only a quick look but feel free to c+p over there.
Main point is now is the time to be drawing up the shortlists in anticpation of geting one over the bookies ;) |

Looked at this a while and had the same conclusions. Took 25 on AC and TM.

Tuesday 30th March 2010
Definitely a busy morning today as plenty of horses worked and we also had lots of owners visiting. Joe Stainer was in first lot where most mainly just cantered and he was keen to see Palmers Peak, Any Currency and Badly Bruised. Any Currency is well on course for the Bet365 Gold Cup and Joe also thought the other two went well. Really appreciate you highlighting sands - time to go balls deep ;) With a lot of horses now heading up to Ayr in Denman's absence AC is stonking value @ 25s imo. |
By:
sorry h...you said above massasoit did'nt have an enrty for ayr...but he's in the field in the post, and in the betting with bookies....but not in the betting on here ??
By:
Yeah, got that wrong... was looking at it late last night so perhaps I went on BF rather that the Post... not sure and certainly don't understand why not quoted on here.
By:
Added another 0.5pt e/w @ 25 on Any Currency
By:
HFC - Any Currency, backed him at C/ham, can see him powering home at Sandown, proper in-running horse - travels, has flat spots, looks beat ...then boom ..i hope. :)
By:
He's hoping he can do a repeat of last year's winner ;)
By:
Grand National Horse in time?
By:
Could be... although as i'm rubbish at identifying a horse to even place in the race I doubt i'm much better at indetifying a potential runner in a year or two's time! ;)

Erics Charm for me.
Loves Sandown and his Aintree warm up shouldnt have taken too much out of him. |
By:
I wouldn't put you off Eric's Charm - ran a belting trial on Saturday. Showed great early speed for a stayer to snatch the initiative, led Don@t Push it and Black Apalachi a merry dance early on and nothing could get it off the bit.
By:
That plus the fact that 4 of the 5 currently ahead of him in the market are pretty unlikely to show up.
By:
Not looking good for Any Currency - has come out of Betfair betting and not quoted with billy's either.....
By:
Boychuk would have a shout, but the h'capper so slow to drop the poor horse, think he needs at least another 5lb off his back before a plunge.
By:
Given that I still refer to the Newbury handicap hurdle as 'The Schweppes',how long will it be until the Sandown race is no longer referred to as ' The Whitbread'?
A bit of unexpected bonus there for the past sponsors,I think. |

Eric's Charm a confirmed runner (so long as it's not firm !)
TRAINER Oliver Sherwood intends to let stable veteran Eric's Charm take his chance in the Grade 3 Bet3-6-5 Gold Cup at Sandown on April 24 despite his Grand National showing. Eric's Charm's place at Sandown was to be determined by his performance in the John Smith's Grand National but the 12-year-old got no further than the first fence where he was a faller. Before his early exit at Aintree, Eric's Charm had landed a veteran's chase at Newbury and the Betinternet.com London National over the Bet365 Gold Cup course and distance on 3m5½f. Writing on his website, Sherwood said: "Eric has returned absolutely fine will now head to the Bet365 at Sandown. We hope that it rains before then as he won't run if the word firm is mentioned." Eric's Charm, a general 16-1 chance for the Bet365 Gold Cup, is a dual winner over fences at Sandown and was a close second to Lacdoudal in the 2006 running of the race. |

Rain-dance time for me then :D

Can't Buy Time a likely runner? Didn't exactly have a hard race at Aintree
By:
Timing is everything :(
VERY decent of them though - only sent the e-mail as hour ago. Thanks for your email. Any Currency has had a small setback which was enough to interupt his preparation for the Bet365 and Scottish National so we've decided to finish him for the season with the weather going against us too. We're really excited about next season for him and hope to aim him at the Grand National. Hope this clarifies & we will update it on the blog tomorrow as the decision was only made yesterday. Martin, Belinda & Freddie |

By:
Nice of them to reply so quickly.
By:
Indeed and to go into so much detail. Webiste with Martin's blog is very good too. If only all trainers were so open...
By:
I guess they must have told betfair yesterday as well as it was taken out of the betting pretty quickly.

Lacdoudal e.w. 33-1 ppow.
Surprised how well he ran at Chelt, showed he's no back number there. 3rd in this last year off a higher mark. Ground won't be a problem and this race likely to cut up, can't see there being loads of runners. Likes the course. |
By:
Lacdoudal now a stupid price, hate it when one of mine shortens this much...no good will come of it.
By:
most are on at 33's. 16's is madness.
By:
Any views of Templer's chance?
VC going 40/1 - PP and Ladcrookes only 16/1 |
By:
Why is 16's madness? Fairoak Lad off to Ireland, Erics Charm not running on gd/fm according to Sherwood. I wouldn't want to be laying 16's for a standing dish like that. Probably go off single figures.
By:
Fairoak isn't going to Ireland - was only entered if case he didn't make the cut for this.
