it's definitely of interest, Snowy and Arbor Supreme are the ones I'm looking at, it's back down to a similar weight it was 2 years ago when it went close behind Comply or Die which looks one of the better GN winners of recent years

By:

Snowy Morning
Big Fella Thanks Arbor Supreme King Johns Castle Winner comes from these four |
By:
Backed snowy heavily, Ruby a big miss (it was never guaranteed) - must have someone who knows Aintree to match the horse's experience. David Casey would be fine by me.
By:
Ruby didn't ride it when it came 3rd either. I also really like this horse but get worried when everyone thinks the same haha.
By:
think this may shorten soon?
By:
i have got to say the handicapper seems to have given last years winner more than every chance? could it be the female presence? could it be time for another national hero who follows up?
By:
will be top weight imo
By:
^???plat?

By:
David Casey will ride SM wont he??
By:

By:
ah, sorry thread title etc etc ;)
David Casey knows this horse better than anyone. |
By:
Very much like this beast myself. Ran a decent race behind Comply or Die as said earlier, and I remember Mullins was still disappointed
By:
It won so easy last year? video again mr smith?
By:
Definitely agree that Snowy Morning has a good solid each-way chance. Completely out of form last season and as a result has been given a chance by the handicapper. He's been running well over inadequate trips, but a little surprised that Townend isn't on him..
By:
Have to agree this one ticks pretty much every box:
Excellent 3rd to C.O.D. when carrying 11st 1lb. To my mind 2008 is a better formguide than 2009 (Cerium 5th?!) Another creditable clear round in 2009 with 11st 8lb. Still only 10 Placed 21 times out of 29, in good form this season Will act on likely soft going Not quite sure what the handicapper was thinking to be honest, seems to have allowed Snowy to drop down the weights for no reason whatsoever. Good value bet. |
By:
Would agree with you there Scampy - when the pace-setters hit the deck at Bechers 2nd-time round the race slowed allowing those towards the rear to pick up, hence we had 10-or-so in with a chance coming to the 2nd-last.
Snowy Morning has a great chance with a weight under 11st (so long as Madison Du Berlais runs). |
By:
Dont know if anyone saw it but Snowy Morning stumbled very badly on the turn in for home last year, almost unshipping the jockey which lost it any chance. A big player this time around, particularly if the ground is soft or worse.
By:
Weather turns for the worse, i think the stable will be happy dont you? :-)

Lots of plusses and backed some time ago. WM confirmed on Sunday was aimed at this race and also said a few weeks back that they rode him all wrong last year. Will be up with the pace this year. I would like Casey to ride but may be waiting to see if Swan's horse gets in before confirming. Just concerned it may not stay and stamina seems to be the key in recent years.

By:
Deadloss...............the exact horses I have backed over a week ago!!.......in preference order
King Johns Castle Arbor Supreme Big Fella Thanks Snowy Morning |
By:
I'm also a big fan of Snowy Morning - can't wait for the race now.
By:
not too sure about the irish challengers this year?
By:
Won't get home on softish ground.
By:
What will?
By:
Casey confirmed for Snowy Morning. ATR.
By:
Personally I disagree about him not getting home on soft ground. If you watch a re-run of 2008 he seems to stay well, just that C.O.D. & K.J.C. stayed better. Snowy certainly wasn't stopping.
By:
He run some respectable efforts on soft, some of those irish races?
By:
Snowy was getting scrubbed along for a long way last year. Soft ground may help, I'm not sure.
By:
A very well put case racingguru, unlucky for me bets on!
