Nice prep for Saturday's big race.

There's an Irish horse lurking down the bottom of the list that I like.

Will wait for weights more bookies to price up before steaming in ;)

I think I know the winner to this race. I'm hoping it will be a decent price ;)

Apparently, there is an Irish horse lurking near the top of the h'cap as well. Scotsirish is a possible! Will probably get bogged down with the weight, but I love to see the top horses competing in h'caps.

^

agreed not a cast iron stayer, but reckon hes been prepped up for this.

Had an entry for the plate @ the festival maybe or a guide to his mark for this.

Was staying on over hurdles lto over 20F.

A lot will depend on his price.

The other one that could go well from overseas is Offshore Account.

TV, Mullins says Scotsirish is a possible, in today's RP.

Personally, I'll be on Offshore Account. I've been on it each time it has run in this country this season . . .

They jumped off at the second attempt after a false start first time in this 2m4f handicap hurdle and it was the favourite PLAISIR D´ESTRUVAL, who scored off his light weight to justify plenty of market support despite been 2lb out of the handicap proper. The fact he was 25lb better off over hurdles compared to his chase mark made him an attractive betting medium for many and he didn´t let his supporters down.

He needed every yard of this trip and it was only well up the run-in that he reeled in his market rival to score a shade comfortably in the end under a good ride. Trainer Arthur Moore will enter his winner in the Topham at Aintree and reckons the 2m6f and the National fences should suit him but Punchestown will also be considered.

Looked a bit at this earlier came up with a whole bunch of stats

Aged 7-10
124 OR+
4+ Runs Season
12+ Chase runs
10+ Handicap Chase Runs
Won over 20+
Won a Handicap Chase
4+ Wins Total
Run in Class A Season
Placed in Class A
Won Class 2
Best Chase RPR this season
Run within 5 weeks
Top 4 lot ( unless ran in FulkWKM)
2/3 Seasons Chaser
Won Double Figure Field
Placed 16+ field
Under 11st

Top Scorers

16 - Panjo Bere, Palypso De Creek, The Sawyer
15 - Scotsirish, Notstringsattatched, Daldini, Always Waining
14- Oodachee, Offshore Account, Plasir D'estruval

Panjo - Not convinced race will suit him
Palypso - National Bound, otherwise of interest
The Sawyer - Fallen last 2 races here so not for me
Scotsirish - Too much weight in all likelehood
Nostringsattached - Not sure if he'll travell with enough for this test
Daldini - Outclassed, though will have a saver if the ground stays soft
Always Waining - V.interesting if the ground dries up a lot and headgear reapplied
Plasir D'estruval - Again interesting if ground stays soft, but wouldnt back it now
Offshore Account - Nice chance.

Oodachee - Came 2nd in this last year off a 6lb higher mark(pulled 13l clear with irish raptor) , off a featherweight again. Showed up well for a long way at cheltenham, hopefully have the cheekpieces back on here - his form with cheekpieces back on after a race or more w/o them reads 3(pertemps final)11P1. The better the ground the better his chance, and a dry week could see his odds crumble.

Also placed horses in this coming back don't have a bad record....

Last 9 years...

F60P4691P7F1.... 2 winners isn't bad and there are a lot of excuses for the failures....

1st 0 - Form was 6PPP70 since - obviously gone
1sr PU - Was pulled up in front at melling road, went lame
9 - Hakim, came back as a 13yo
2nd PU - Dunbrody millar, form since was 8PF0F, also he started the season with blinkers on so id guess he'd been working badly since he came back into training aswell.

Take out those F64617F1.... 2 winners and a place from 6 completitions isnt bad...Aswell as Oodachee jumping round here twice, he's never fallen in his life, so you'd say he's more likely than not to jump round....

Swann's aren't in too bad form, and it looks quite a weak race tbh. 11st+ have had 50 runners in the last 9 years, and only two have made the top 2. One was the winner Gwanako - who was a major stats blip in every sense, but in 2008 it was a strange race with a lot of carnage and not many finished. Below 11st there aren't too many potential massive improvers.

Offshore accounts very interesting as is Palypso De Creek if he runs....

Quick ground - Saver Always Waining
Soft ground - Saver Daldini.

Sorry TV, only just noticed your earlier question.

It hasn't been decided yet whether Deutschland and/or Dooneys Gate go for the GN.
If something goes wrong early on in the Irish National, Equus Maximus or Pomme Tiepy might go as well.

Dare To Doubt and Not Converting will run in the two bumpers.

Dorset Square will probably go for a h'cap h'dle.

That's it.

Wee Robbie for me @ 25s.

Looks to be steadily coming back to form after injury in which case he remains v. well handicapped.

Likely going (g/s) and trip seem ideal and I think he'll love these fences. Not read any quotes so a bit of a gamble in backing him now as his last race will have been only 14 days ago but worth it at the prices imo.
