Alain De Royer-Dupre on Wednesday revealed that "an interesting gallop" at Chantilly racecourse has persuaded him to allow the Aga Khan's unbeaten maiden winner Rosanara to follow a path once trod by the outstanding Zarkava.

Like Zarkava, Rosanara is set to go from a Longchamp debut success, via a Chantilly workout, to the Prix Marcel Boussac on October 4, the race that first catapulted the subsequent Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe heroine to stardom.

Royer-Dupre said: "I was pleased with the way she went and, all being well, she will now go for the Marcel Boussac."

Of the Chantilly gallop, the trainer added: "It was an interesting gallop."

I thought Stacelita was the new Zarkava?

Oh sorry, I thought Sariska was the new Zarkava.

Where can I lay this piece of cr@p?

The French love an Aga Khan hype horse, will make for some nice prices on the tote in the Marcel Boussac hopefully.

Whatever you do, don't think of backing her for the Guineas after the Boussac. They didn't bring Zarkava over and I'm pretty sure Rosanara will follow a similar path (i.e. stay at home for the Pouliches).

See other thread for comments on Rosanara's winning debut - she hacked up and looks a very classy filly. The runner-up Aruna had run well previously in the Prix des Marettes, traditionally quite a hot fillies' race, and the 5th Oranor ran well yesterday (beaten ½l at Chantilly). Rosanara's winning time was nearly five seconds faster than the colts' equivalent race on the same card. However, as ki2 says, Darma is thought to be the best of Alain de Royer Dupre's fillies.

Big day for several highly regarded fillies. It's a very competitive race, I've no idea what will win and I probably won't be having a bet. Rosanara is just one of several very promising fillies. Godolphin's filly Wedding March (trained by Andre Fabre) has identical form credentials to Rosanara - she too impressively won a Longchamp mile maiden by 4 lengths (the same race Zarkava won two years ago), and in a faster time than Rosanara - and I would advise people not to get too carried away with the hype surrounding the Aga Khan's filly.

On a line through Elisheba (the only line I could find). Rosanara is the equal of Kilo Alpha. On the RP ratings, KA is 40lbs inferior to the top rated filly. If this is the new Zarkava I will give up the game.

A great win though, she looks sure to improve into a good 3 year old as well.
